Hunter Renfrow is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 17 of the 2022 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 22% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Raiders slot receiver finally showed some signs of life in a Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Renfrow brought in four of seven targets for 42 receiving yards and a TD. He also pitched in 13 return yards while serving in his special teams role.
Despite his pop in production last week against the Steelers, 2022 has been an overall disappointing year for Renfrow and his fantasy managers. The diminutive wideout has battled injuries and has only appeared in eight games this season.
Renfrow is on track to post career lows in most statistical categories. He's totaled just 248 receiving yards on 26 catches and has found the end zone only once this year.
Things won't get much easier for the Clemson product in Week 17, as a date with a rugged San Francisco 49ers defense looms. The Niners rank fifth in Pass Defense DVOA and will likely make life difficult for Derek Carr and company.
That said, Renfrow does at least appear healthy and if last week's performance is any indicator, appears to be trending in the right direction. Fantasy managers that find themselves dealing with injuries in championship matchups can throw a dart with Renfrow as a desperation FLEX play.
