MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Picks
Chris Bassitt OVER 6.5 strikeouts (+130 Caesars Sportsbook)
Let's start today with some plus odds on Chris Bassitt in the early game. This is a guy that should be coming into his own in 2022 after a stellar 2021 season in which he struck out 159 batters over 157 1/3 innings pitched. He is fresh off a 93-pitch outing in which he struck out eight Nationals over six innings pitched. Now, he gets to face the Diamondbacks who are posting the sixth-highest K rate in baseball against right-handers with a rate of 26.2% while also posting a wRC+ mark of just 73.
Nick Pivetta OVER 5.5 strikeouts (+105 Caesars Sportsbook)
Pivetta is another guy with plus odds on his K prop that I like tonight. He was a high-volume strikeout guy in 2021 as he posted a 10.6 K/9. He got off to a bit of a rough start in his first outing against the Yankees as he allowed four earned runs while striking out four over 5 2/3 innings pitched. He gets a bit of an easier matchup in this one against the free-swinging Twins who are posting the highest K rate in baseball against right-handers with a rate of 30.4% while also posting a wRC+ mark of just 73.
Tarik Skubal UNDER 4.5 strikeouts (-130 Caesars Sportsbook)
This is a bit dicey because Skubal possesses some solid strikeout upside, but the Royals are posting a K rate of just 14.3% against left-handed pitching this season and have always been a tough team to punch out. In 2021, Skubal faced the Royals a total of four times and managed to get over this total in just one of those four games. He also struggled a bit in his first start against the White Sox in which he struck out just three over four innings while allowing four earned runs.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Picks
Ryan Mountcastle OVER 1.5 total bases (+125 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Mountcastle will be facing Jordan Montgomery in this one who allowed 15 bombs to right-handed hitters in 2021 while also allowing 20 doubles and a .256 BAA. Mountcastle has always been solid vs. southpaws as noted by his .843 OPS a season ago with 13 bombs and a .527 SLG.
Alex Bregman OVER .5 total bases (-180 DraftKings Sportsbook)
If you can find this later at 1.5 with plus money, it would also make sense to play Bregman. He will be facing Marco Gonzales who gave up a whopping 23 bombs and 29 doubles to right-handed hitters a season ago. Meanwhile, Bregman has been off to a solid start in 2022 as he hit .333 with two bombs and has always hit left-handed pitching well as noted by his .839 OPS in 2021 and .985 in 2020.
