Week 14 Tight End Rankings Outlooks
Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden was being viewed as a league-winner when he was in the midst of a mid-season surge. He came out of nowhere and had four straight performances with 60 receiving yards or more. Since Week 10, though, Gadsden has been basically invisible on the field.
During that span, he has six receptions for 81 yards and hasn't scored a touchdown. Another factor to consider is that quarterback Justin Herbert (hand) recently underwent surgery on his left (non-throwing) hand. Herbert is hopeful to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, but it's unclear how much he will be impacted by the injury.
The Chargers have a lot of mouths to feed and could lean on the running game more with rookie running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) on track to make his first appearance since Week 5. Gadsden probably won't offer more than TE2 value in Week 14.
Kyle Pitts Sr., Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. had a fantastic Week 13 with 82 receiving yards on eight targets, and is looking to continue that production in Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks, who have been vulnerable to the tight end position, allowing the fifth most fantasy points to tight ends.
What's most encouraging for Pitts is that his targets went up in Week 13 to eight, compared to the last three games, where he only saw a combined 13 targets. With Kirk Cousins now under center for the second straight week in Week 13 and more acclimated to the offense, the rapport between Pitts and Cousins showed in Week 13.
The last time Cousins played two games in a row was in 2024, before Michael Penix Jr. took over as the team's QB1 in Week 16 of that season. Based on the trend and matchup, Pitts' stock is on the rise heading into the final weeks of the fantasy football season. Rotoballer ranks him as the TE7 for Week 14.
Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange has been a major spark for the Jaguars since his return in Week 13. In his last two games, he's hauled in eight of nine targets for 138 yards and a touchdown. After being placed on the injured reserve with a hip injury suffered in Week 5, Strange has reminded Jacksonville how valuable he is.
When Strange is active, the Jags are 6-1, and without him, they are 2-3. Despite crowded competition for targets with Brian Thomas Jr. and Jakobi Meyers, Strange has a clear role in this offense and a strong connection with quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
The Jaguars host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to tight ends this season. Fantasy managers can rely on Strange as a starting option in Week 14, who will look to help the Jaguars to an outright lead in the AFC South.
