FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice (3/1/16): NBA DFS Lineup Picks

By Keith Allison from Hanover, MD, USA (LeBron James) [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Tom Bellucco highlights the top NBA DFS lineup picks for 3/1/16, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your roster on FanDuel.

Happy March! We open up one of the greatest sports months of the year with a fine six-game slate. Injury news came in flurries last night, and it didn't stop until about 10:15. Nights like that make FanDuel very difficult to play. In fact, I even had trouble on DraftKings, as I ran out of options for late switches. Oh well. If you survived last night unscathed, congrats. If not, let's get back on the positive side tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for FanDuel for 3/1/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays.

Without wasting anymore time, let's get down to it!

FanDuel DFS Guards

PG - D'Angelo Russell (vs. BKN) - $5,300

In his new starting role, Russell has shown us some solid fantasy production twice against the Grizzlies. One would assume Kobe Bryant will be back tonight, but the lose of a few shots should be balanced out by the pace and lack of defense that the Nets provide. Russell may be able to eclipse 2o points for his third straight game on Tuesday, and that would make him a worthwhile pick at this price.

PG - Elfrid Payton (at DAL) - $5,300

While there was some initial concern that Brandon Jennings might be taking his minutes, Payton has silenced them in his recent three-game stretch, averaging just over 29 minutes in that span. He's still not the most fantasy productive point guard in the league, and he's not close either, but he doesn't have to be at this price. If Payton gets near that 30-minute mark again, he should hit value with plenty of upside for more.

SG - E'Twaun Moore (at MIA) - $4,400

If, and only if, Derrick Rose misses Tuesday's game, Moore because a near must play at this price. Moore tends to slot in at the point guard in Rose's absence, and while this matchup is far from ideal, the usage and price are too high in that scenario to fade him. Moore should be able to exceed the 25 FDP mark, and that will keep you competitive in all leagues while saving you salary too.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

SF - Kent Bazemore (at GS) - $4,700

It seems like FanDuel's pricing is too high for my liking, because the guys up top are not appetizing to me. However, Bazemore is. He mentioned a few days ago that he wants to get away from settling for three-pointers and drive to the basket more. That is already providing major improvements to his fantasy game, and this uptempo battle with Golden State should work to his benefit as far as fantasy production goes.

SF - Bojan Bogdanovic (at LAL) - $3,500

SF - Mario Hezonja (at DAL) - $3,700

These two small forwards are in very similar spots. Wayne Ellington went down last night with a possible concussion for the Nets. Evan Fournier missed last game for the Magic due to nagging injuries. These two players would benefit tremendously if either of those two miss Tuesday's contests. Let's hope we get word on their status well before tip.

PF - Aaron Gordon (at DAL) - $6,500

Yeah, he's back. I can't stop recommending Gordon because FanDuel refuses to raise his price adequately. This is the perfect storm for Gordon, as this game should stay rather competitive, and the Mavs struggle to guard athletic power forwards. He's been quite possible the most consistent player in the league, and 35-40 FDP seems like a lock tonight as well.

PF - Bobby Portis (at MIA) - $4,400

Everyone might be on him after his big game against Portland on Saturday, but it's for good reason. The minutes are trending upwards, and Portis always gets his shots when he's on the floor. His tremendous hustle is always good for a bonus three or four rebounds and a block/steal too. With Gibson and Gasol getting worn down fast and Mirotic not back for a few games, this is Portis' spot to shine.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Hassan Whiteside (vs. CHI) - $8,400

Brook Lopez (at LAL) - $8,400

If you can't tell, I'm spending up at center tonight. Not to knock FanDuel, because I play plenty of games here too, but this reason here is why I prefer DraftKings. I'm likely going to try to fit both of these guys in my DK lineups. For you FanDuel people out there, just go ahead and pick one. Al Horford is in play too, but these two have higher upside in my opinion. Whiteside gets the Bulls who have been getting torched by big men since the loss of Joakim Noah (not to mention Whiteside is a man on a mission off the bench lately). Lopez is dominating touches in Brooklyn since the departure of Joe Johnson, and the Lakers should lead to even more usage for the big man. You really can't go wrong.
