DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (Late Slate - 6/3/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Spencer Strider - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top late-slate daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on June 3, 2023. Mike's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

DraftKings took a ginsu to this slate and chopped it up again. FanDuel didn't split out the first two games. As far as we are concerned here at RotoBaller, those are on their own as well. The eight-game afternoon "main" slate will be covered in full here at RotoBaller. I'm here to discuss the five-game prime-time slate to finish off our Saturday.

This article contains my picks for the five-game late slate on Saturday, June 3, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:15 PM ET.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Spencer Strider, ATL at ARI ($12,400 DK, $11,100 FD)

I don't like paying this much for a pitcher, but I'll do it on DraftKings tonight. Using Smyly as the second pitcher and some value bats in great spots make Strider an achievable piece of my lineups without sacrificing much. His 106 strikeouts in just 63.2 innings and 0.99 WHIP suggest that none of his numbers are fluky. The Ks are here to stay and the young Snakes still strike out quite a bit. Strider hasn't given up more than four runs in a start this year, so he's safe...unlike Zach Wheeler. Yes, I'm still bitter. It has only been 24 hours.

Drew Smyly, CHC at SD ($7,100 DK, $8,500 FD)

Smyly got rocked a bit by the Reds in his last start, but don't panic. His strong numbers this year have been a thing against the Padres for years. Check this out...the numbers don't lie.

Smyly's elevated strikeout totals have been a thing against the Padres for a while. The big names in this lineup haven't fared well against Smyly either. Most of the contact is weak with only Juan Soto and Trent Grisham going above 90 mph exit velocity. Even though Soto is hitting it hard, he still isn't hitting it well. The expected average, SLG, and wOBA are all right around the actual stats. History says that Smyly is a strong play tonight.

Others to consider: Yu Darvish ($8,600 DK, $9,300 FD) vs. CHC

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Josh Naylor - 1B, CLE at MIN ($3,500 DK, $3,000 FD)

I hesitate to use anyone against Sonny Gray this year, but Naylor has handled Gray well in his career. Naylor is 5-for-13 lifetime against Gray with a pair of homers and just as many strikeouts. Naylor is also coming off of a monster series against the Orioles in which he drove in eight runs in the last two games of that three-game set. Naylor is hitting .385 over the last three weeks with five homers and 21 RBI. He's averaging an RBI per game in that span, people. How is he still this affordable?

Gleyber Torres - 2B, NYY at LAD ($5,300 DK, $3,300 FD)

We don't have to play all cheap guys to afford Strider. We can thank Smyly for that. However, I'm not paying up just to pay up. I want a guy who's seeing the ball well and is in a good situation. That's Gleyber. He is riding a 12-game hitting streak with two homers, three RBI, and 10 runs scored. Oh...and he's facing a rookie pitcher that just game off the IL. I like Michael Grove long-term, but this is a tough landing spot for him.

Royce Lewis - SS/3B, MIN vs. CLE ($3,200 DK, $3,300 FD)

Lewis is a bit more of a steal on DK, but he's worth using on both sites until he cools off. His first four games of 2023 have netted 46 DraftKings points, and that's after his donut last night. Lewis has two homers in four games with six RBI and three runs scored. I'm all about the value tonight because I'm playing Strider.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Mookie Betts - OF/2B, LAD vs. NYY ($6,000 DK, $4,000 FD)

Remember how I said that I wasn't paying up unless it was for a guy on a hot streak? Enter Mookie, who has six hits, four homers, five RBI, and a steal...over his last two games! I know Cole is an ace. I get it. However, he has been known to give up some long balls from time to time. Cole has allowed two homers in four of his last five starts. I'm not saying that Mookie gets both of them, but the smart money is on him to get one.

Mike Yastrzemski - OF, SF vs. BAL ($3,600 DK, $2,900 FD)

Yastrzemski had a bit of a slow start to the season even before he got hurt, so some people have just forgotten about him. Not me. Yaz has reached base in ten straight games with hits in seven of the last eight. The average is creeping upward. Next up should be power. Kyle Bradish is a painfully average pitcher whose surface stats are quite a bit better than expected stats. Regression is coming, so I have no issues using a guy seeing the ball well against a pitcher like that.

Eddie Rosario - OF, ATL at ARI ($2,600 DK, $2,500 FD)

Speaking of forgotten men, Rosario has battled injuries, ineffectiveness, and the pandemic since his breakout 2019 season. He has since hit his way back into Atlanta's lineup with seven hits in his last four games, including a two-homer game off of Merrill Kelly last night. Rosario's five homers match last year's total in 99 fewer plate appearances. It's a far cry from the 32 he smoked for the Twins in 2019, but progress is progress. I'll ride the hot streak on the cheap.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Atlanta Braves vs. Ryne Nelson

The Braves have only scored nine runs in the first four games of this road trip and Nelson's expected ERA is nearly a run lower than his actual total. This tells us that he has been getting unlucky, specifically at home. It also tells us that the stack options are pretty limited. I can make a fairly strong case for using at least half of the pitchers tonight. Nelson is the only one that I won't use under any circumstances, so he is my stack bait.

The Atlanta offense, despite the struggles on this road trip, is still loaded. Rosario is my favorite piece, but I can make a case for using anyone in this lineup right now aside from the slumping Ronald Acuna. The Braves still have four starters under $4,000 on DK and all but Michael Harris are hitting fairly well of late. You can affordably stack Braves and still pay up for their ace.

Also consider: San Francisco Giants vs. Kyle Bradish

Sneaky stack: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Gerrit Cole
