DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/19/21): MLB DFS Lineups

Shohei Ohtani - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/19/21. John Brubaker's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Saturday, gang! We have a smaller, seven-game matinee slate, as usual, to open up our weekend. The slate is split up between some earlier 7 pm EST starts and a nice four-game night slate after 9 pm EST. Let's take a peek at the weather for tonight's slate.

The biggest chance of rain is in Atlanta. At worst, there may be a late start, but other than that, we shouldn't see any issues there. There doesn't appear to be any other weather concerns otherwise!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/6/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter @LucidMediaDFS.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Walker Buehler - LAD at ARI ($11,100)

No surprise here. The Diamondbacks absolutely stink, being shut out last night and in the midst of a 15 (!!!!) game losing streak. They have a team wOBA + ISO of .357, over 100 points below average against right-handed pitching. Buehler's "stuff", strikeout and walk percentage, have been down of late, but I expect them to regress back to the mean in what should be a "get right" start in Arizona. The Dodgers are currently the highest favored team (-216) on the slate, and I fully expect Buehler to be the top pitcher on the board tonight. He will be chalky, but if we're talking an optimal lineup, I'm going Buehler

Austin Gomber - MIL at COL ($6,600)

How is this dude still this cheap? If you saw my betting picks article from Monday when he started last, I mentioned that it's very rare that a pitcher "figures out Coors", and yet Gomber seems to be doing so. He turned out another quality start Monday in Coors going eight shutout innings allowing just three hits without walking anyone against the Padres. He's now thrown 27.1 innings in Coors this year and only has allowed three earned runs, racking up an average of 17.23 DK points per start at home. This includes his first outing where he only scored 4 DK points against the Dodgers on April 4th. He'll be going up against the Brewers, who have only scored eight runs in two games in Coors thus far, which relatively speaking is pretty bad. His price point should be at least in the $8,000 range at worst, but at $6,600 it's as close as a "free square" you'll get in this situation.

Other Options: Lance Lynn ($10,300), Adam Wainwright ($9,300)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Eric Haase - C, DET at LAA ($3,800)

The Detroit breakout catcher has cooled down of late but is still producing at a high level for his price, especially against lefties. He's sporting a hard-to-soft contact rate of +40% along with a .758 wOBA + ISO against southpaws this season. Patrick Sandoval has pulled it together over his last few starts but is still surrendering a 48.5% hard contact rate vs. right-handed hitters this season.

Shohei Ohtani - 1B/OF, LAA vs DET ($5,500)

What more is there to say about this dude? He's a stud. He launched two more homers last night after announcing he'll be in the Home Run Derby this season. He's accurately priced and $5.5K is a hefty price to pay, but well worth it for a guy like Ohtani. He'll be matched up against Wily Peralta and whoever else the Tigers decide to throw out there, so... yeah.

Garrett Hampson - 2B, COL vs MIL ($4,300)

Hampson has been one of the unsung heroes on my season-long fantasy team this season. He's averaging 6.8 DK points per game this season, it seems like he breaks out for double-digit points more often than not. He still has a positive hard-to-soft contact rating at +23% and is a major threat to steal bases off of Adrian Houser and projected starting catcher Manny Pina if he gets on base.

Justin Turner - 3B, LAD @ ARI ($5,100)

The Dodgers have to have one of those high-scoring games eventually, right? This should be the opportunity to do so. They'll be going up against Matt Peacock, who owns a 4.27 xFIP and 40% hard-contact rate over the last 30 days. I expect Turner and the Dodgers to take full advantage of Peacock and the faulty D-Backs bullpen this evening.

Gavin Lux - SS, LAD at ARI ($3,700)

See what I just said about Turner, and add in the fact that Lux is seeing righties well with a 29.5% hard-to-soft contact rating and a .535 wOBA + ISO to boot. For his price he's just too cheap for the damage he can do.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Justin Upton - OF, LAA vs. DET ($4,200)

The Angels are scorching hot of late. Upton has played a big part, logging a +33% hard-to-soft contact rating and averaging 7.4 DK points per game in his last five.

Taylor Ward - OF, LAA vs DET ($2,800)

How is Ward's price still this low? Like I just mentioned, the Angels are hot and Ward is playing a big part in that as he's on an eight-game hitting streak. His 42.6% hard-to-soft contact rating will play and he's a free square at his price, and he'll most likely be hitting third for LA again tonight.

Abraham Almonte - OF, ATL vs STL ($2,800)

Another guy who's just too cheap for his recent production. He's reached base in eight of his last nine games, including a solid run of 6+ DK points per game in his last six games, with three of them coming over double-digits. Wainwright has been solid but is due for some regression, particularly against lefties, and Almonte is in a good cheap spot as the potential cleanup hitter this evening.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Los Angeles Angels vs. Wily Peralta + Tigers Bullpen
  • Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Matt Peacock + Diamondbacks Bullpen
  • Tampa Bay Rays vs. Logan Gilbert
  • Sneaky Stack: Detroit Tigers vs. Patrick Sandoval
