DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 2/27/21 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

CBB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

Mike Marteny offers his DraftKings daily fantasy college basketball sleepers for 2/20/21. His CBB DFS lineup picks and sleepers will help you win on DraftKings.

We begin the weekend with a nice ten-game early college basketball slate on DraftKings. We've got a couple of SEC track meets, a couple of Big Ten(14) slogs, a couple of Big 12(10) showdowns including Bedlam, with some ACC and Big East sprinkled in. The difference is this weekend we have some injuries to deal with. Illinois hasn't even determined if Ayo Dosunmu will travel with the team or not. Sharife Cooper is likely out for Auburn. Then you add in the loss of Dylen Disu for the season and Scottie Pippen Jr's nagging hip felxor and we have a ton of value spots on here. The only question is who is worth paying up for?

In college basketball it's perfectly fine to ignore slow-paced games or teams with tough matchups on a large slate like this. Choosing a couple of spots wisely has been the key this year. The bench players on teams with high point totals could wind up being better plays than starters in the games with lower totals. The spreads are all within eight points today, but only one game is over 150. That's LSU-Arkansas at a staggering 161. The next highest total is Notre Dame and Boston College at 149. I'll have heavy exposure to the LSU game, that's for sure.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 2/27/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Austin Reaves, Oklahoma ($8,500)

When Reaves arrived in Norman, he was solely a spot-shooting transfer from Wichita State. Now he is the engine that makes the offense go. If you plan on using any Sooners in DFS at all, make sure you pair them with Reaves. He has the ball in his hands so much that he's going to have a hand in whatever is going on on the court. This implied total for this game doesn't even go over 140, but there are few players who handle the ball as much as Reaves on this slate. This is a play based on volume and this little thing called Bedlam. It doesn't just apply to football.

Moses Moody, Arkansas ($7,800)

This Moses may not be able to part the Red Sea, but he can cut through the Tigers defense. Moody went bonkers on Alabama earlier this week. He may be my favorite play on the entire slate. Arkansas is staring down a NCAA at-large berth after wins over Alabama, Missouri, Florida, and Kentucky over the last two weeks. Moody has been the guy carrying the team he has played 110 of the possible 120 minutes over the last three games. The sky is the limit for Moody right now with that kind of minutes load in a game that promises to run fast.

Cameron Thomas, LSU ($7,100)

Thomas has at least 30 DraftKings points in six of the last seven games. The only game in which he went under, he still put up 28.5 in a loss to Alabama. It's unusual for a freshman to be this consistent, but Thomas is the reason that LSU has become one of the best scoring teams in the country. Only Alabama has held them under the 70 mark since January 23. The defense leaves a lot to be desired, but that doesn't matter to us DFS players. Whatever game LSU is involved in is going to be a high scoring one. Today will be no different. Javonte Smart is a nice option too. One LSU piece likely wont be enough today.

Andre Curbelo, Illinois ($5,700)

Curbelo has played very well filling in for Ayo Dosunmu a few times this year. He put up 38 DraftKings points against Nebraska earlier this week. You wont get that kind of output against a team like Wisconsin, but the Badgers aren't the lock-down defenders that they used to be either. This game will play fast for a Big Ten(14) tilt. So long as Curbelo starts again, he will be a great value for this price.

Also consider: Prentiss Hubb, Notre Dame ($7,900); D'Mitrik Trice, Wisconsin ($7,200); Jalen Tate, Arkansas ($6,300); Jamal Johnson, Auburn ($4,800) if Cooper is out

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Kofi Cockburn, Illinois ($8,000)

It has been a rough go of late for Kofi, but this price feels to low. Forget for a minute the fact that he put up 43 DraftKings points in just 28 minutes in the first meeting with Wisconsin. Focus instead on the fact that two of the last three games have been blowouts. Cockburn hasn't needed to play big minutes in big wins over Nebraska and Minnesota. That dip in production is mostly due to bench guys getting runs in blowouts. That had led to a lower price on DraftKings, and though I do think that a couple of guys ahead of Cockburn still have slightly higher ceilings, his floor in what should be a close game is higher than anyone's.

Justin Smith, Arkansas ($7,600)

I've already mentioned what a large role Moses Moody has been in the surge of Arkansas, but Smith's role may be even more important. Smith has only been off the court for seven minutes over the last three games. Whereas Moody is mostly a scorer, Smith has a strong floor because of his defensive prowess. That could come into play more against a team like LSU. Faster tempo means more turnovers. We've seen Smith come up with ten steals over the last four games. I could make an argument for him over Moody today, but why make that tough decision? Play them both!

Steffon Mitchell, Boston College ($7,100)

Notre Dame pulled a fast one last week with stronger than normal play up front against Syracuse. I think it was mostly a product of the struggles of Alan Griffin than anything else. CJ Felder is a solid play here as well, but Mitchell had a better game against the Irish the first time around and he's $1000 cheaper. In fact, Mitchell's numbers have been better than Felder over the last fortnight. DraftKings has been slow to adjust. Much like Cockburn, Mitchell is too cheap for as high as the ceiling is.

Greg Brown, Texas ($5,500)

The freshman is starting to show why he was a five-star recruit coming out of Vandegrift High School right there in Austin. Both Brown and Jericho Sims gave the Red Raiders fits up front in the first meeting with their size. Brown is a more well-rounded player than Sims. We've seen him show off those skills more in recent weeks. This is a slightly more evolved version of Brown than Texas Tech had to deal with back on January 13, and they couldn't really handle him then. This could be a really nice game for Brown for the price.

Also consider: Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana ($9,200); Trendon Watford, LSU ($8,300); Dawson Garcia, Marquette ($6,600); Jaylin Williams, Arkansas ($5,000)
