Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks for 4/3/20 - DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports

Jorge Pucks' DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 4/3/20. He analyzes CG:SO slates and his top targets for ESports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks! If you are reading this, you must be missing sports quite a bit but have found solace in DFS ESports! For those that are new to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS set up, you are not alone.

If you need a quick refresher, here you go. You have teams of five and the objective is to plant a bomb while the other team defends. It’s a pretty simple objective so let’s not try to over-analyze things! There are 30 rounds per match (the first to win 16 rounds takes the match) and they play best two out of three. There is no respawning so once you die, you are gone till the next round so Kill Death Ratios are very important to look at it when crafting your roster.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS advice, analysis and picks for contests on DraftKings at 12:00 PM, April 3rd, 2020. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @rdr1634.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - DFS Basics

From a DFS perspective, you have six total spots with 1 of those being a captain spot which gets 1.5X points. With any shooting game, kills and deaths are a big focal point in CSGO DFS. Kills get you 1.5 points and assists get you 1 point while a death gets you -1. This is where the K/D (kill to death ratio) comes into play and is something that you should really pay close attention to when making your picks on each slate.

We want to roster guys who can limit the death total and not completely sink our lineups just because of reckless play and die more frequently. Additional bonuses are handed out but the biggest thing to focus on is the kill to death ratio. One overlooked stat is the game length adjustment stat. This is an adjustment that takes a player score, gets multiplied by 30 and then divided by the number of rounds played.

When it comes to roster construction, we will obviously look to fill the captain spot with someone who provides a solid floor but one who can have the most upside as well. For this article, I will look at the different matchups, give a player pool and make some recommendations as to who I like on the slate.

Friday's Games: ESL-FP

  • OG +190 @ Faze -250
  • G2 -120 @ Mousesports -105
  • Tyloo +220 @ Virtus. Pro -290
  • EG +135 @ Liquid -180
  • Furia +130 @ 100 Thieves -160
  • MIBR -160 @ Swole Patrol +125

OG +190 @ Faze -250

We get a clash of 2 top 15 teams at the beginning of today’s slate as #10 ranked Faze takes on #15 ranked OG. OG is at the top of Group C with a record of 3-1 while Faze is in the bottom half with a 2-2 record. Faze comes into this matchup winning two out of their last five games while OG has won three out of their last five games.

Faze is the Vegas favorite and they are led by one of the best players in the world in NiKo. He is carrying a 1.23 K/D ratio during Season 11 of the ESL Pro League and has 70 kill upside should this go into three games. Coldzera and Broky are other players to consider from Faze as they both have posted positive K/D ratios over their last 5 combined games.

OG is not getting any respect from Vegas in this matchup and I think their record indicates that they will either keep this game close or pull out the upset. Mantuu is the first OG player to consider due to his recent form and consistency. He has registered 50+ kills in three out of his last five games while maintaining above a 1 K/D ratio over that same time frame. NBK and ISSAA both serve as high upside plays as a part of an OG stack and also serve as good one-off options as well.

FaZe (K/D Ratio)

  • NiKo 1.23
  • Coldzera 1.14
  • Broky 1.08
  • Rain .94
  • Olofmeister .82

OG (K/D Ratio)

  • ISSAA 1.23
  • Mantuu 1.16
  • NBK 1.13
  • Valde 1.13
  • Aleksib .86

G2 -120 @ Mousesports -105

Another key game on this Friday slate involves Mousesports and G2. Both are tied at 3-1 in Group C of the European Season 11 ESL Pro League. This should be a very tight game as both teams are ranked in the top five in the world with #3 being G2 and #4 being Mousesports. Both teams have won three out of their last five games and look to be in good form as they head into this matchup.

Ropz and Frozen have been playing really well for Mousesports during Season 11 and they have both had 30+ more kills than deaths in their last five games. Both Ropz and Frozen are carrying an above 1 K/D ratio on their team and are the main reasons that Mousesports is having a successful season so far. They make a great 2 man stack to look at in this competitive match while also both being candidates in the captain spot.

G2 also has a strong pairing in both -huNter and kennyS with both of them having a 1.29 K/D ratio so far this season. -HuNter has been the most consistent and is a candidate for the captain role on this slate while kennyS has nice GPP upside. AmaNek and JaCkz could both be good value if needing some salary savings but they do run the risk to be under a 1 K/D ratio on the day.

G2 (K/D Ratio)

  • -huNter 1.29
  • kennyS 1.29
  • JaCkz 1.05
  • Nexa 1.03
  • AmaNEk .97

Mousesports (K/D Ratio)

  • Frozen 1.16
  • Ropz 1.12
  • Woxic .99
  • Chrisj .95
  • Karrigan .89

Tyloo +220 @ Virtus.Pro -290

We have picked on Virtus.Pro over the past several days but today is the day to look their way. Vegas has them as the favorite in this matchup and they need a win to keep pace with the likes of Faze, Mousesports who are right ahead of them. Virtus.Pro is coming off of a nice win over OG and it was their first win in five games. Tyloo has lost four straight games and has only won 1 round in their last 9 rounds played. Virtus.Pro is ranked #20 while Tyloo is ranked #30 overall and is above Tyloo in the overall standings.

Jame has been one that has been a good tournament target the past several days, especially as a one-off and he looks to be a good captain candidate on this slate. While he is a riskier pick for captain, he is coming off of a 75 kill performance in a crucial win. If looking to stack VP, Qikert and Buster both look to be solid stack options as they both have 50 kill upside.

Tyloo has really struggled since they started the Europe Season 11 of the ESL Pro League. Somebody holds the highest K/D ratio at .97 and numbers like that will not get the job done. This is a full fade spot as they should get dominated yet again by Virtus.Pro.

Tyloo (K/D Ratio)

  • Somebody .97
  • Attacker .88
  • Summer .83
  • Freeman .83
  • Xeta

Virtus.Pro (K/D Ratio)

  • Jame 1.07
  • qikirt 1.06
  • buster 1.00
  • Sanji .85
  • AdreN

EG +135 @ Liquid -180

We have another matchup of 2 top 10 teams in the world as #6 ranked Liquid takes on #7 ranked Evil Geniuses. Liquid has won two out of their last five games while Evil Geniuses have won 3 straight games heading into this matchup. These 2 teams are battling for the top spot in Group A of the North American ESL Pro League so this should make for another highly competitive game on this large slate.

Liquid has a very strong duo of NAF and EliGe. They are the two most reliable players on this team. They do a great job of staying above the 1 K/D ratio line in all matches and have been performing well since the start of season 11 of the North America Pro League Season. Liquid relies on these 2 players a lot so if you want a lower owned mini-stack with upside, they are worth the consideration.

Evil Geniuses are led by Brehze who has racked up 140 kills over the last two games (69, 71)! He has been +41 over the past three games and is extremely viable at the captain spot on this slate. CeRq is a steady stack option but has struggled to keep his death rate down so he carries some risk to him, especially against Liquid. If you want a low owned stack addition to pair with Brehze, Ethan has shown some upside that can help reach the top of tournaments. He is very risky so proceed with caution.

Evil G.(K/D Ratio)

  • Brehze 1.17
  • Cerq 1.08
  • Ethan 1.05
  • Stanislaw .87
  • Tarik 1.04

Liquid (K/D Ratio)

  • NAF 1.25
  • EliGE 1.23
  • Stewie2K 1.02
  • Twistzz .99
  • Nitr0 .91

Furia +130 @ 100 Thieves -160

Vegas loves close games on this slate and this is another one that could go either way. Furia looked like the top team in their group earlier this week but after dropping two straight matches, they might be a little lost as a team. 100 Thieves has lost two straight games as well but is higher ranked overall at #8 while Furia is ranked #11. These teams are both tied at 2-2 and are jockeying for position in Group A of the North America ESL Pro League.

Furia has really been disappointing as of late and it starts with Kscerato. In the last 5 games he has played, he was + 57 in the first three of those games. In his last 2 games of the 5 game stretch, he has only been +7 which means he has seen his fair share of deaths which has killed his upside. Yuurih has gone plus in all 5 games so he would be the safest play if looking to get exposure to Furia.

Jks has really played well recently and has shown massive upside going for 60+ kills in 3 of his last 5 games. Jkaem is another 100 Thieves player to consider as he possesses 75 kill upside but is a tad riskier as he has shown his ability to go under the 1 K/D ratio at times. If this matchup goes for 3 games, we could see some high scores from both sides.

Furia (K/D Ratio)

  • Kscerato 1.19
  • Yuurih 1.12
  • HEN1 1.06
  • arT .91
  • VINI .88

100 Thieves (K/D Ratio)

  • jkaem 1.18
  • jks 1.13
  • Gratisfaction 1.06
  • Liazz 1.03
  • AZR 1

MIBR -160 @ Swole Patrol +125

The final game on the slate features 2 teams that are in the bottom half of the league standings in MIBR and Swole Patrol. Swole Patrol just captured a big win against Furia while MIBR lost a close one to Evil Geniuses. MIBR is ranked # 24 overall while Swole Patrol is ranked #39 so it seems that Vegas is siding with the higher-ranked team for this matchup despite recent form.

Cooper- has been a nice surprise for Swole Patrol as he is performing well as of late. He has gone +41 over his last 4 games while notching 77 kills in a loss to 100 Thieves. Outside of Cooper-, everyone else on the Swole Patrol carries some serious risk that could kill your lineup.

With knowing the death upside that Swole Patrol presents, MIBR looks to be a team to want to possibly stack on this slate. KnGv- and FalleN have been the main guys to use on MIBR stacks and they have both been able to go off at the same time in some of their more recent wins as a team.

MIBR (K/D Ratio)

  • FalleN 1.06
  • -kNgV 1.06
  • Fer .98
  • Meyern .80
  • TACO .81

Swole Patrol  (K/D Ratio)

  • Cooper- 1.19
  • MarKE 1.06
  • Food 1.03
  • Zellsis 1.03
  • freakazoid .96
