Chicago Street Course NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes

Bubba Wallace - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR Practice Speeds, Notes, and Lap Averages. Use these NASCAR stats and info to build lineups on DraftKings for the the 2025 Grant Park 165 at the Chicago Street Course. Bubba Wallace was fastest in the session.

The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at the Chicago Street Course on Saturday afternoon in preparation for the upcoming Grant Park 165 on Sunday afternoon.

The 41-car field was split in to two groups for practice, with each group getting 25 minutes on track.

Below you will find the two groups, key notes from the practice session, as well as the practice speeds for all drivers.

Important Practice Notes

Denny Hamlin - It didn't take long for there to be a major happening in practice. In the opening minute or two, the engine in Denny Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota blew, causing the red flag to come out. NASCAR eventually added more time for the first group to practice but Hamlin didn't get any practice time and won't be able to qualify.

William Byron - The No. 24 Chevrolet was very impressive in practice, but Byron got into the wall late and caused enough damage that he won't be able to post a qualifying lap for this race. He will start in the rear of the field on Sunday.

Chase Elliott - Late in practice, Chase Elliott got into the wall pretty hard. Like Byron, he won't be able to make a lap in qualifying and will have to start from the rear on Sunday.

Alex Bowman - Another Hendrick Motorsports driver with issues was Alex Bowman, who broke his toe link after hitting the wall in practice. The No. 48 team looked to be able to fix it before qualifying.
