FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (12/7/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Alex Burns highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 12/7/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We're in for a lighter slate on Tuesday, as only three games are set to tip-off. While any type of basketball is a win, it can certainly make it difficult to stand out with your lineups. As always, we'll break down my favorite FanDuel plays for Tuesday's slate. First, let's take a look at the three games.

  • BKN @ DAL O/U - 215.5
  • NYK @ SAS O/U - 212
  • BOS @ LAL O/U 218.5

As previously mentioned, three games make it difficult to stand out from the pack when building out lineups. Let's be honest, everyone and their momma is going to have some variation of Kevin Durant, James Harden, or Anthony Davis in their lineups Tuesday. The trick is to stand out. While it's typically a safe decision to throw Durant into your lineups, he loses a bit of value when 50%+ of your FanDuel tournament also has them rostered. It's imperative to find guys who may be underlooked. Pairing a Kevin Durant with someone like an Obi Toppin or Jalen Brunson just makes sense. With that said, let's dive into my favorite FanDuel plays for Tuesday's slate.

Below are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 12/7/21. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s injury news to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Dennis Schroder - PG, BOS @ LAL ($5,200)

It's been said a countless number of times over the last few weeks but in case you missed it: Schroder is a must-play when Jaylen Brown sits. He's putting up just under 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists with a 29% usage rate in 22 games without Brown this season. The latter is questionable to play Tuesday and head coach Ime Udoka has stated that the team wants to get him 100% before he returns. This could very well be another Schroder game against the Lakers.

Jalen Brunson - PG, DAL vs. BKN ($5,300)

Brunson has been rock solid so far this season and while he gets a massive boost when Luka Doncic sits, he's provided some nice stand-alone value even when he plays. Luka is questionable to play Tuesday and he did return to practice, so all signs point toward him suiting up. This makes Brunson a sneaky contrarian play, as it's likely the masses pivot elsewhere with Luka in the lineup. He's still been able to produce just under 1.0 FanDuel points per minute with Luka healthy.

Dejounte Murray - PG, SAS vs. NYK ($9,900)

Murray has been money this season, seemingly flirting with a triple-double every time he touches the floor and serving as the Spurs' de facto number one option. He's scored no less than 45 FD points in each of his last six games and gets a Knicks squad who's struggled defensively as of late. The Spurs will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back set but they will be at home, so there's no reason to fade Murray here.

Also consider: Alec Burks ($6,500), Marcus Smart ($5,800), Derrick Rose ($5,700), Derrick White ($7,800)

FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jayson Tatum - SF/PF, BOS @ LAL ($9,700)

Tatum has simply been on a tear over his last three games, averaging over 50 FD points per contest. Much of that boost can be attributed to the absence of Jaylen Brown, who is questionable to play with a hamstring injury. Even if Brown suits up, Tatum is looking a bit underpriced against a sub .500 Lakers squad. Not to mention the masses will likely pay up for Kevin Durant or LeBron James. Regardless, it wasn't all that long ago when Tatum burned the Lakers for 64 FD points a few weeks back.

Kristaps Porzingis - PF/C, DAL vs. BKN ($8,500)

Porzingis has been upgraded to probable after missing the last two games just in time for a smash matchup against the Nets. There isn't anyone in the Nets' frontcourt on his level and he could command some extra usage if Luka Doncic is less than 100% or sits out, as both are possibilities at the moment. Either way, The Unicorn was on one prior to his knee injury and will look to get back on track in Tuesday's primetime showdown. Take advantage of his discounted price in a plus matchup!

Julius Randle - PF, NYK @ SAS ($8,700)

Randle has gotten back on track after a two-game skid last week and is now averaging just under 50 FD points in each of his last three contests. The Spurs haven't been able to slow down opposing power forwards at all this season and are currently giving up the seventh-most FD points to the position. Randle finds himself in a great matchup against a Spurs team playing on the second night of a back-to-back.

Also consider: Kevin Durant ($10,800), Maxi Kleber ($4,400), Obi Toppin ($4,200)

FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jakob Poeltl - C, SAS vs. NYK ($6,500)

Poeltl hasn't scored less than 30 FD points in each of his last six games as he's worked his way back into playing shape after a long layoff due to COVID-19. Even better, he finds himself in a dream matchup against the Knicks, who are giving up the second-most FD points per game to opposing centers this season. I'd much rather roll out Poeltl over someone like the more expensive Al Horford, who will be competing with Robert Williams for minutes.

Dwight Howard - C, LAL vs. BOS ($5,200)

Howard is a sneaky play if you're looking for value. In his two games as the starting center for the Lakers, he's averaging 27 minutes and just under 28 FD points per game. He won't see a ton of usage, but he averaged 1.5 FD points per minute in the team's last meeting with the Celtics back on November 19th.

Also consider: Anthony Davis ($10,000), LaMarcus Aldridge ($5,600)
