DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks: (11/24/21)

Jimmy Butler - NBA dfs lineup picks, daily fantasy basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on November 24, 2021. Alex Burns provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

What's a better way to usher in the holiday season than a 13-game slate of hoops? You're right. Nothing. Well, that's exactly what we get on Wednesday as 26 teams are scheduled to take the floor, providing ample opportunity to build out a winning lineup and put some cash in our pocket. Understanding the slate, such as O/U's, is such an important skill that helps identify a breakout player(s). With that said, let's take a look at all 13 game totals for Wednesday.

  • CHA @ ORL - O/U 219.5
  • LAL @ IND - O/U 217.5
  • PHX @ CLE - O/U 209.5
  • BKN @ BOS - O/U 216
  • CHI @ HOU - O/U 213
  • MIA @ MIN - O/U 213
  • UTA @ OKC - O/U 210
  • DET @ MIL - O/U 215.4
  • TOR @ MEM - O/U 221.5
  • WAS @ NOP - O/U 208.5
  • ATL @ SAS - O/U 220
  • PHI @ GSW - O/U 218.5
  • POR @ SAC - O/U 224

Out of all 13 games, there are at least three that could end up in blowouts, thus lowering the ceilings of the starters in those games. It shouldn't take much for the Bulls, Jazz, and Bucks to defeat their opponents, which leads me to fade the studs from this matchup to a degree. A perfect example of what I'm trying to avoid actually happened on Monday when the Bucks squared off against the Magic. The game was over by halftime and Giannis Antetokounmpo was limited to 24 minutes and only 41 DK points. While it's good for Giannis to get some rest in real life, it's a gut punch to your DFS lineup. On the flip side, there should be tons of value in the BKN/BOS matchup. It doesn't have the highest O/U but this game has sneaky shootout potential. Vegas believes the POR/SAC and TOR/MEM games will be the highest-scoring games on the slate, so that's worth paying attention to.

With all that said, let's dive into my favorite plays for Wednesday's slate. This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 11/24/21. You can also check out today's FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

DraftKings Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

R.J. Hampton - SG, ORL vs. CHA ($4,900)

Hampton has been seeing some extra run with Cole Anthony battling an ankle injury and has played well, averaging just under 39 DK points in his last two games. Anthony has already been ruled out Wednesday and Hampton should see another uptick in minutes. He's essentially a free space against the Hornets, who have been middle of the pack against opposing guards this season.

Ricky Rubio - PG, CLE vs. PHX ($6,800

Not even sliding to the bench could slow down Rubio's impressive start to the season. He put up 33.8 DK points in 29 minutes during Monday's loss to the Nets and could be in store for an even bigger game with Darius Garland questionable to play Wednesday. Rubio has become pretty chalky as of late, but he's a no-brainer against his former team if Garland sits. To make it better, the Suns give up the sixth-most DK points to opposing guards this season.

Anthony Edwards - SG, MIN vs. MIA ($7,400)

Edwards has been hit or miss since his 48-point outburst earlier this month and it's led to his lowest DK price of the season. While the Miami Heat has been stout defensively, they've actually allowed the most DK points to opposing guards this season, so Edwards finds himself in a great spot to produce. His recent level of play should be enough to limit heavy exposure from the masses, which is exactly what we want here.

Isaac Okoro - SG, CLE vs. PHX

Okoro has flown under the radar so far this season but it's time to start taking advantage of his low pricing. He's seen no less than 32 minutes in each of the last four games and has posted at least 27 DK points in three of his last four. Darius Garland is questionable to suit up and much like Ricky Rubio, Okoro should be the beneficiary of some extra usage if the latter sits.

Others to consider: Terry Rozier ($6,300), Cedi Osman ($5,800), Tyrese Haliburton ($5,800), Desmond Bane ($5,500)

DraftKings Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jordan Nwora - SF, MIL vs. DET

This is a gut call and has a lot to do with the likely game script. The Bucks absolutely beat the breaks off of the Magic on Monday and that led to Nwora seeing the most playing time since Game 2 of the NBA season against the Heat. The Pistons will be traveling to Milwaukee on the second leg of a back-to-back set, meaning another blowout is very likely. Nwora posted 28.3 DK points in Monday's win and could be in line for similar production in this one. Especially after watching Tyler Herro drop 31 on the Pistons on Tuesday.

Lauri Markkanen - PF, CLE vs. PHX

Lauri didn't miss a step in his return after missing more than 20 days of game action. He posted 22 points, eight rebounds, and 36.5 DK points with ease against in Monday's loss and should get all the playing time he can handle against the Suns with Evan Mobley still nursing an injury. The Suns have been a favorable matchup against opposing power forwards this season, giving up the eighth-most DK points this season.

Jarred Vanderbilt - PF, MIN vs. MIA ($4,600)

Vanderbilt has seen at least 24 minutes in each of his four last games and has put up at least 31 DK points in two of his last three. The Heat has been a tough matchup against opposing power forwards this season, but they will be traveling to Minnesota on the second leg of a back-to-back, so they'll likely be a bit more vulnerable in this one. Vanderbilt is in a groove and it makes sense to ride the wave on Wednesday.

Jimmy Butler - SF, MIA @ MIN ($10,000)

Jimmy Buckets had a disappointing showing in Tuesday's win but he has a quick chance to bounce back against his former squad. I hate to call this a revenge game, but Butler will certainly come out firing. It's no secret that Butler's tenure with the Timberwolves didn't end well and it's always fun to chase these kinds of games. At the very least, it's unlikely he'll post back-to-back bad games, so take advantage of his regression to the mean.

Others to consider: Mattise Thybulle ($3,600), Bobby Portis ($7,000), Domantas Sabonis ($8,500)

DraftKings Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Mo Bamba - C, ORL vs. CHA ($6,400)

I get it, Bamba has been a bit frustrating as of late. Fortunately for him, he gets a perfect matchup to turn things around. The Hornets have been bleeding fantasy points to opposing big men all season and have actually given up the second-most DK points to centers so far this season. Look for Bamba to get back his usual ways on Wednesday.

Hassan Whiteside - C, UTA @ OKC ($4,100)

Whiteside has shown some decent standalone value even with Rudy Gobert in the lineup this season and could get some extra run if the Jazz can wrap things up early against the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander-less Thunder on Wednesday. His floor should be 20 DK points in this one as Derrick Favors, Mike Muscala, and Isaiah Roby serve as the only competition at the center position. The only reason Gobert isn't mentioned as a must-play here is due to the probability that this game ends in a blowout and he sees his minutes limited.

Others to consider: Bam Adebayo ($8,400), Andre Drummond ($8,200), Jarrett Allen ($7,400), Jakob Poeltl ($5,700)
