FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (11/23/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Alex Burns highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 11/23/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Who's ready for some Tuesday night hoops? After a wild slate on Monday, there are four games on tap for DFS purposes on Tuesday. With LeBron James out, Luka Doncic a game-time decision, and Nikola Jokic questionable, we could be in for an interesting slate with a ton of value. Before diving in, let's take a closer look at each of the four matchups.

  • MIA @ DET O/U - 208
  • LAL @ NYK O/U - 214
  • DEN @ POR O/U - 214.5
  • DAL @ LAC O/U - 210

At first glance, the DEN/POR matchup looks to have the highest ceiling out of the four games, but a Nikola Jokic absence will certainly have an effect. Keep a close eye on his status ahead of a 10:00 PM ET tip. The LAL/NYK game should be a fast-paced affair, as the Lakers currently sit at number one in PACE rating so far this season and the Knicks aren't too far behind at number 11. With LeBron James serving his one-game suspension, this should open up some opportunities for others to produce. Keep reading to see who should see the biggest uptick in value as a result. With that said, let's jump in to my favorite FanDuel plays for Tuesday's slate.

Below are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 11/23/21. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s injury news to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jalen Brunson, PG/SG - @ LAC ($7,200)

Brunson is a bit of a chalk play if Luka Doncic is forced to sit again but he's just been so good over the last four games. He's put up just under 38 FD points during that span and has actually displayed a bit of standalone value even with Doncic in the lineup this season. Not to mention the Clippers present a plus matchup as they have surrendered the ninth-most FD points to opposing guards this season.

Russell Westbrook, PG - @ NYK ($9,900)

Westbrook has been the brunt of much slander on Twitter this season and while his play makes him hard to defend at times, there's no denying he excels from a fantasy standpoint when LeBron James is out of the lineup. That will be the case on Tuesday as LeBron is set to serve his one-game suspension for Sunday's altercation with Isaiah Stewart, leaving The Brodie in line to see a ton of usage. In 10 games without LeBron, Westbrook is seeing a team-high 31% usage rate and averaging 20.8 points, 9.3 assists, 8.9 rebounds, and just under 43 FD points per contest. Get him into your lineups!

Tyler Herro, SG - @ DET ($7,600)

Herro has been nothing short of phenomenal to start the season and gets a fantastic matchup against the Pistons on Tuesday. Detroit is giving up the most FD points to opposing guards this season and Herro is averaging just under 33 FD points this year. It likely won't take the whole Heat squad to beat the Pistons, but he should have no problems getting to his spots in this one.

Cory Joseph, PG vs. MIA ($4,100)

Joseph is simply a salary saver in a light slate that should see plenty of minutes. With Killian Hayes set to miss the next couple of games, Joseph should see the lion's share of minutes at point guard and split time with rookie Cade Cunningham on the ball. The Heat have been stingy against guards this season, but Joseph is the right kind of contrarian play to target on a lighter slate. He's put up at least 20 FD points and seen 32.3 minutes over his last three games.

Max Strus, SG @ DET ($3,900)

This is an absolute dart throw that could end up being a smash play. Duncan Robinson is questionable and with the Heat on the front end of a back-to-back set, they may decide to err on the side of caution with their sharpshooter. Even if he does suit up, it shouldn't take the calvary for the Heat to defeat the lowly Pistons, and Strus will certainly get run in a blowout. I'm willing to put in all of my chips and stick Strus in a lineup or two.

Also consider: Monte Morris ($5,100), Immanuel Quickley ($4,100), Frank Jackson ($3,800)

FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Talen Horton-Tucker, SF - @ NYK ($6,000)

Much like Russell Westbrook, THC has been dynamite in his stints without LeBron on the floor. He's averaged 23.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 37 FD points in three games without LeBron this season and will likely slide into the starting lineup against the Knicks on Tuesday. The Knicks have also given up the fifth-most FD points to opposing forwards this season, so a favorable matchup is just the cherry on top.

Will Barton, SF - @ POR ($6,500)

Barton has become a bit of a chalk play with all of the various injuries plaguing the Nuggets as of late, but it's hard not to take advantage in what should be a pace-up game against the Trailblazers. It's quite possible that Nikola Jokic could miss yet another game, leaving Barton as the team's go-to weapon on offense. The Blazers have also been terrible at guarding forwards this season, adding to his case.

Julius Randle, PF - vs. LAL ($8,400)

Randle rebounded after a four-game stretch of extremely underwhelming play. He's averaged over 40 FD points over his last two games just in time for a national TV matchup against the short-handed Lakers. The Knicks could also be without Derrick Rose for this contest, which could force Randle to handle the rock a bit more. He's played 407 total minutes without Rose on the floor this and has averaged over one FD point per minute during that span.

Trey Lyles, PF - vs. MIA ($3,700)

Much like Max Strus, this is a dart-throw, as Lyles is sure to see an increased role with Isaiah Stewart out of the lineup. He's averaged just under one FD point per minute with both Stewart and Kelly Olynyk out of the lineup this season and could very well see the most playing of the season. Worst case scenario, the Pistons get blown out by the Heat and Lyles sees plenty of garbage time action. It's certainly worth the risk on Tuesday's light slate.

Also consider: Kristaps Porzingis ($8,800), Jerami Grant ($7,800), Aaron Gordon ($6,200), JaMychal Green ($4,200)

FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Nerlens Noel, C - @ LAL ($4,800)

Noel is one of my favorite plays for Tuesday, mainly because of the opportunity that is presented. Both Mitchell Robinson and Taj Gibson will miss this game, leaving Noel as the only true center on the roster. He should see a ton of minutes, block plenty of shots, and serve as a great value play priced only at $4,800. The Lakers have been middle of the pack defending opposing centers, so the matchup isn't terrible either.

Anthony Davis, C - @ NYK ($10,500)

Davis is coming off of an absolute mammoth 76-point fantasy outing in Sunday's win over the Pistons and the Lakers will need a similar performance without LeBron in the lineup due to a suspension. The center position is extremely top-heavy on Tuesday, so it makes sense to save elsewhere and spend up to acquire a top guy.

Luka Garza, C - vs. MIA ($3,500)

For the sake of continuing the dart-throw trend, Garza could absolutely see a larger role for the shorthanded Pistons on Tuesday. While he's yet to top 17 minutes in a game, Stewart and Olynyk are out, meaning it's either Garza or Trey Lyles at center for this one. Again, it's entirely possible he sees zero playing time, so tread at your own risk. However, if he sees a massive role, he'll be the best value on the slate priced at the FD minimum of $3,500.

Also consider: Ivica Zubac ($5,500), Jusuf Nurkic ($6,800)
