The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Jake Evans to a three-year, $5.1 million contract extension ($1.7 million average annual value) on Sunday. The 25-year-old is coming off a 13-point (three goal, 10 assists) rookie campaign and is expected to see more time in Montreal's top-nine forward group in 2021-2022. Evans has displayed offensive ability in each of his stops prior to Montreal (138 points in 158 games with Notre Dame (NCAA), 83 points in 118 games with Laval (AHL)) and should be more of a NHL scoring-threat as he gains more experience. As for now, Evans (1% owned in Yahoo! leagues) remains more of a streaming option in deeper fantasy formats.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
