The Los Angeles Kings have put pen to paper on a new three-year, $15 million contract extension with goaltender Cal Petersen on Wednesday. The 26-year-old, who is set to close out his current three-year, $2.575 million deal in 2021-2022, is coming off a strong season in which he posted a 2.89 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 35 appearances. With his new extension now in place, it is expected that Petersen will likely take the reigns from Jonathan Quick as the starting netminder in Los Angeles this season. As a result, the Iowa native could provide sneaky value toward the back-end of fantasy drafts this fall.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
