Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.
It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.
We only have five pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Six more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with almost two-thirds of the pitching pool for today to choose from. There has to be something good in there, right?

Hitter Streamers for 9/7 - Shallow Leagues
Ian Happ (OF, LHB, CHC) - 49.4% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CIN LHP Wade Miley
What has Happ done since I wrote him up (for the sixth straight article) two days ago? How about four hits in nine tries with a homer and four RBI. He's still on fire and the Cubs don't have the luxury of a deep bench to sit him against lefties. Miley is hittable and Wrigley is nice to hitters this time of year. Expect Happ to get you something before he finally tops 50% ownership and I have to find someone else to tout.
Frank Schwindel (1B, RHB, CHC) - 48.4% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CIN LHP Wade Miley
If you thought Happ made me look good, wait until you see what Frank the Tank has done in the last two days. He has five hits in his nine tries with a homer, three runs scored, and five RBI. His matchup today is even better than Happ's if you only have one slot to fill. If you have two, you may as well ride the Cubs until they cool off.
Jonathan Villar (2B/SS/3B, SHB, NYM) - 43.5% Rostered
Matchup: at MIA RHP Edward Cabrera
Villar had nine hits in the five-game wraparound series against the Nationals over the weekend in which he started every game. Villar accounted for five runs, a homer, three RBI, and a steal in those five games. The whole Mets offense is looking pretty good right now. Using the leadoff hitter who has been a nice catalyst of late seems like a good idea.
Jeimer Candelario (1B/3B, RHB, DET) - 41.3% Rostered
Matchup: at PIT LHP Dillon Peters
Peters has been solid when healthy this year, but he's a lefty and Candelario is torching everyone right now. He is hitting .385 with two homers, eight runs scored, and seven RBI in the last week alone. Pittsburgh's staff, particularly the bullpen, has been nearly as bad as Detroit's own. Peters will be lucky to go five innings in this one, so Candelario and company will have plenty of cracks at this Pittsburgh bullpen.
Hitter Streamers for 9/7 - Deeper Leagues
Miguel Rojas (SS, RHB, MIA) - 22.7% Rostered
Matchup: vs. NYM RHP Carlos Carrasco
Rojas was removed from Sunday's game with a sore trapezious muscle, so it remains to be seen if the day off was enough to get him in game shape for tonight. If he does play, I want Rojas in my lineup. He is hitting .500 with a homer, five runs scored, and five RBI in the last week. Rojas can help the average at the very least and has a good shot at runs batting leadoff.
Abraham Toro (2B/3B, LHB, SEA) - 22.1% Rostered
Matchup: at HOU RHP Jake Odorizzi
Toro must still be mad at the Astros for trading him. In nine games against his former team, he is hitting .321 with three homers and 12 RBI, by far his best stats against any opponent in his career. Toro sees red against the Astros, so I'm banking on him to drive in something else tonight. He had two hits and two RBI yesterday to start off the series and has nine RBI in his last six games.
Harrison Bader (OF, RHB, STL) - 12.4% Rostered
Matchup: vs. LAD RHP Mitch White
White is the expected long relief option for the Dodgers in this one in what will mostly be a bullpen game. Bader is hitting .364 with a pair of homers and six RBI in the last six games. His teammates aren't doing much to drive him in, but we have seen hot streaks like this from Bader before. This is when you want to use him until he cools off.
Jo Adell (OF, RHB, LAA) - 11.4% Rostered
Matchup: at SD LHP Ian Snell
Adell is hitting .350 with two homers, a steal, three runs scored, and three RBI in the last week. He is showcasing all five tools that he has been touted for as one of the Angels' top prospects. It took him a bit to get going, but Adell gives you a shot at homers and steals now without hurting your average. In a deep league, that's an uncommon find on the wire.

Jake Odorizzi (RHP, HOU) - 31% rostered
Matchup: vs. Seattle
It was easy to write off Odorizzi for the year after the way he started it. However, he may be able to help us down the stretch, at least in favorable matchups. Odorizzi has only allowed four runs in his last three starts. Two of those were against this Mariners team (he allowed one run in each of those). The other was against Texas. He has also accounted for 20 strikeouts in 15.5 innings in that span. Odorizzi isn't going to go deep into games, but considering that 15 of those strikeouts were against the Mariners, he will help the K's and probably help the ratios too. I'll take that and the win in a league that doesn't count quality starts.
Pitcher Streamers for 9/7 - Deeper Leagues
Wily Peralta (RHP, DET) - 5.5% rostered
Matchup: at Pittsburgh
Yes, we're still targeting the Pirates. There is inherent risk using a guy like Peralta. He's not shy about giving up long balls and doesn't rack up a lot of strikeouts. However, most games he will still help the ratios if he's efficient enough to stay in the game past the fourth inning. If you run Peralta, just accept that he's going to give up a couple of runs. Considering the way Pittsburgh had been going up until the Cubs series though, there will be enough strikeouts to chase if you think you're going to need them this week.
Jackson Kowar (RHP, KC) - 2.8% rostered
Matchup: at Baltimore
Kowar's June arrival in the majors was an absolute disaster. He allowed 10 runs in just five innings over three starts. Opponents clobbered him early and often. Most concerning was the fact that he only allowed one homer. The damage was done by liberal walks and opponents stringing together hits. Kowar held his own in his return to the majors last week against Cleveland, allowing two runs in six innings and striking out six. We could get a similar start here against the Orioles. Kowar looked much more comfortable on the mound and should get us decent strikeouts and ratio numbers even if his offense doesn't back him up.
