3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen threw seven scoreless innings on Saturday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out nine in a 5-2 loss to the Rockies. It was Gallen's best outing since April, as he had gone 0-3 with a 7.02 ERA, 1.537 WHIP and 25.6 percent strikeout rate over his last five starts entering Saturday. It's been a disappointing year for Gallen overall between injury and underperformance, as he's now 1-7 with a 4.59 ERA, 1.332 WHIP and 27.4 percent strikeout rate. He'll have a tougher matchup in his next outing against Philadelphia.--Michael
