Matt Adams Ready For Rehab Assignment Soon
Colorado Rockies first baseman Matt Adams (elbow) has been cleared to "ramp up his intensity" in his throwing program and should be ready for a rehab assignment soon, per beat writer Danielle Allentuck. This is good news for Adams, who's on the IL with a strained right elbow, as he hadn't been cleared to hit or throw just three days ago. He's been out since June 8 but it sounds like he could make his return to the club within a week or so if he doesn't experience any setbacks. The veteran slugger is batting just .161 with a .451 OPS across 31 at-bats this season and is still looking for his first home run. He can be left on the waiver wire whenever he returns to the Rockies.
