Colorado Avalanche goaltender Pavel Francouz inked a two-year, $4 million ($2 million average annual value) contract extension to remain in Denver on Friday. The 29-year-old, playing in his first full season with the Avalanche, has been excellent in a backup role - posting 14 wins, a 2.44 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage in 24 appearances on the campaign. With starting netminder Philipp Grubauer out for the foreseeable future with a groin injury, the Avs will turn to Francouz to grab the reigns in the crease. He'll make his next start versus the Ducks on Friday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
