Chicago Cubs president Theo Epstein said that manager Joe Maddon will return in 2019 despite uncertainty stemming from the team's disappointing end to the 2018 season. The Cubs were eliminated 2-1 in 13 innings in the wild-card game on Wednesday against the Rockies. Chicago has been a playoff team in all four years Maddon has been at the helm and have won 90-plus games each year. That included winning the World Series in 2016 for the first time in 108 years. However, a source said it's unlikely the Cubs will extend Maddon's contract past next season. There has also been talk that Maddon and Epstein "are not always on the same page." The Cubs are holding Maddon to an extremely high standard that he created, so 2019 could definitely be his last with the team if they don't make another deep postseason run.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
