The Tampa Bay Rays have signed 31st overall pick Shane McLanahan to a slightly above slot-value deal. McClanahan has a fastball that could reportedly hit triple digits with a strong changeup as well. He pitched to a 5-6 record with a 3.42 ERA and a 120/48 K/BB ratio with South Florida in 2018. McLanahan will likely report to rookie ball before attempting to make his way to the majors. If that will come as a starter is yet to be seen.--Dan Fappiano
