Jean Segura Out Again Friday
Seattle Mariners shortstop Jean Segura (forearm) will again be held out of the lineup Friday against the Red Sox. Segura is currently on antibiotics because of a forearm infection he is dealing with. The team appears to be taking a cautious approach and won't rush Segura back until this ailment clears up. Segura is having an All-Star season, slashing .334/.359/.480 with two triples, six home runs, 14 stolen bases, 21 doubles, 44 runs batted in and 52 runs scored. He currently is slashing .319/.372/.458 in the month of June and the team will have the next few days to decide whether a trip to the disabled list is in Segura's imminent future. Expect utility man Andrew Romine to play shortstop in Segura's place.
