DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/9/18): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on May 9, 2018. Justin Bales' MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

There are plenty of games today, but they are broken down into two slates. The later slate has seven games, and that is the slate that we will be focusing on here.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/9/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter (@BalesSJustin).

DraftKings Starting Pitchers

Patrick Corbin - P, at LAD ($13,300)

Corbin has been enjoying an elite season, recording a 4-0 record, 2.15 ERA, and 0.76 WHIP through seven starts. He also features an elite 11.7 K/9 this season. He has thrown against the Los Angeles Dodgers twice this season, and he is averaging 30.9 fantasy points per game against them. He's an underdog in tonight, which is a bit surprising, but no other pitcher has the upside that Corbin possesses.

Joey Lucchesi - P, vs WAS ($7,200)

Lucchesi is a pitcher that flies under the radar a bit, but he has recorded a 3-2 record, 3.12 ERA, and 1.18 WHIP through seven starts. He also possesses strikeout upside, recording a 9.6 K/9 this season. He gets a tough matchup against the Washington Nationals, but Lucchesi is a high upside pitcher. He's a cheap way to get upside into your lineups tonight.

DraftKings Infielders

Salvador Perez - C, at BAL ($3,700)

Perez has looked great over his last 10 games, recording a .297 average with a .459 slugging percentage and an .817 OPS. He's also averaging 8.1 fantasy points per game over the same span. He has struggled at times against right-handed pitching, but he is playing in an extremely hitter friendly stadium. Perez can be considered in all leagues tonight.

Ryon Healy - 1B, at TOR ($3,800)

Healy has been one of the hottest hitters in the MLB over his last 10 games. Over that span, he's hitting .333 with seven extra-base hits (five home runs) and 11 RBIs. He gets a good matchup against Jaime Garcia in a hitter friendly stadium, and Healy still comes with a surprisingly low price tag. He can safely be used in all leagues tonight.

Alen Hanson - 2B, at PHI ($3,000)

Hanson has only played in nine games this season, and he has looked outstanding over that span. He's averaging 10 fantasy points per game this season, and he has scored double digit fantasy points in six of his nine games. He gets a good matchup against Nick Pivetta tonight, and Hanson is an option that can be used on a nightly basis until his price tag skyrockets.

Evan Longoria - 3B, at PHI ($3,900)

Longoria has cooled off over his last couple of games, but he is still playing at an extremely high level. He's averaging 7.9 fantasy points per game over his last 10 games, and he gets a great matchup in a hitter friendly stadium. He's no longer a player that can safely be plugged into all leagues, but he's an outstanding tournament option tonight.

Manny Machado - SS, vs KC ($4,900)

Machado has been playing at an elite level this season, recording a .346 average with a .623 slugging percentage and a 1.054 OPS through 34 games. He's a more powerful hitter against left-handed pitching, and he gets an elite matchup against Eric Skoglund. Skoglund has struggled against right-handed batters throughout his career, and this is an easy matchup to take advantage of.

DraftKings Outfielders

Adam Jones - OF, vs KC ($3,600)

Jones has struggled at home this season, but he has been playing well recently. Over his last 10 games, he's hitting .256 with five extra-base hits (two home runs) and five RBIs. He gets an elite matchup against Eric Skoglund, who has struggled against right-handed batters this season. Jones isn't the most consistent option on the slate, but he comes with tremendous upside.

Aaron Altherr - OF, vs SF ($3,600)

Altherr has performed well at home this season, as he's hitting .275 with a .550 slugging percentage and an .891 OPS through 15 games in Philadelphia. He comes with some upside, but he's an extremely consistent option. He has also been seeing the ball well over the last 15 days, recording a 50% hard-hit rate over that span. He's a safe option for a reasonable price tag.
