The Pittsburgh Pirates will call up starting pitcher Nick Kingham to make a spot start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, per a report from Stephen Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. After a doubleheader on Wednesday, the team needed another starter to go on Sunday. Kingham was once a consensus top-100 prospect in baseball, but Tommy John surgery in 2015 knocked him off the radar. He is currently the team's 13th-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. Kingham was solid in his first full season back, posting a 3.95 ERA in 2017. The 26-year-old has been even better to start 2018. He's thrown in 22 2/3 innings with Triple-A Indianapolis this season, posting a 1.59 ERA and striking out 27 batters. Kingham will have an advantage in that the Cardinals have never seen him, but he's a risky streaming option against a solid offense.--Matt Wilkes
