FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/5/16): MLB DFS Advice

Happy Labor Day RotoBallers! Hopefully you are not laboring today and have your day dedicating to winning some contests on FanDuel. All 30 teams are in play with first pitch at 1:05 ET, with plenty of tournaments for early, main, and all-day formats.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/5/16. As for Vegas insights, the heavy moneyline favorites tonight are the Red Sox (-220) and Cubs (-195). The highest scoring totals are Giants-Rockies (12) and Royals-Twins (9.5).

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Red Sox versus Edwin Jackson

Jackson continues to disappoint for the Padres, posting three consecutive games with at least five runs allowed. He gets the best lineup in baseball tonight; the Red Sox .824 OPS versus RHP tops all teams. They aren't cheap, but if you seek value at pitching keep the BoSox in mind.

Giants versus Chad Bettis

I know, you don't need to be told to stack at Coors. But the Giants-Rockies have a 12 run total, and the next closest is 9.5, you have to get some action. Bettis has been prone to the long ball in the second half and the Giants are starting to click on offense. Joe Panik, Hunter Pence, Buster Posey, Brandon Be... you get the idea, all Giants are in play today.

Also Consider: Nationals versus Ryan Weber

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Drew Pomeranz (SP, BOS) - $9,200

Pomeranz has pitched well since getting acclimated to the AL, posting a 2.70 ERA. He gets a return to his former park tonight in which the offense has been nonexistent. Since trading Matt Kemp to the Braves, the Padres have the worst OPS in baseball (.664) and young hitters who started hot (Alex Dickerson) have cooled down. Start Pomeranz with confidence tonight.

Jered Weaver (SP, LAA) - $6,300

Well, here we are recommending Weaver in September. He's actually been pretty impressive in his past two starts, posting a 2.25 ERA and 9/3 K/BB ratio versus two formidable offenses (at Blue Jays, Reds). The Athletics are a much easier opponent, as they've been barely less bad than the Padres (.667 OPS in August; 29th). If you want to stack Coors or the Red Sox, here is where I'm targeting.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Russell Martin (C, TOR) - $3,300

Martin had a fantastic August, slashing .286/.356/.626 with nine home runs. He's continued his offensive spurt in September (.972 OPS) but hasn't seen his ownership spike like we saw with Gary Sanchez.

First Base (1B) - Freddie Freeman (1B, ATL) - $3,000

Freeman had an even better August, posting a 1.114 OPS in August and has two home runs already in September. He's a notorious Nationals killer and has a HR to his name versus Max Scherzer. I'll roll him out there at this bargain rate.

Second Base (2B) - Joe Panik (2B, SFG) - $3,400

Cheap Coors is my kind of Coors. Panik has struggled in Septembers but that's nothing a trip to Colorado can't fix; he has .365 average in 15 games there.

Shortstop (SS) - Asdrubal Cabrera (SS, NYM) - $3,100

Cabrera recently won NL Player of the Week and has still been on fire. He hit .405/.435/.786 in August and has 20+ points in four of his past five games.

Third Base (3B) - Yoan Moncada (3B, BOS) - $3,200

Moncada is still raw but if you've seen him you can see the potential is evident. He recently has been inserted into the lineup and has multiple hits in consecutive games and gets the home run prone Jackson tonight. Moncada hit one in Petco at the Futures Game. Perhaps his next one is in store tonight.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Trea Turner (OF, WAS) - $4,000

I refuse to not play TT. He had a .938 OPS in August and the Braves don't have a starter tonight with Matt Wisler still injured. It'll be a bullpen game, which the Braves don't have, making Turner and the Nats solid plays.

Starling Marte (OF, PIT) - $3,600

While the power hasn't been there for Marte, the steals play and he has 41 versus RHP (6 versus LHP). He has a .417 average in September and should continue his hot hitting versus a struggling Adam Wainwright.

Odubel Herrera (OF, PHI) - $2,300

Looks like FanDuel hasn't fixed all the Phillies pricing. Herrera hasn't kept up his first half pace but is a criminal rate at $2.3K solely for the speed.

Also Consider: Christian Yelich (OF, MIA) - $3,600 and Matt Kemp (OF, ATL) - $3,000
