We're in Week 12 of the season. A dozen. Wow. It's actually appropriate that we're at this number since only 12 catchers are at 70% or higher ownership in Fleaflicker. Then the dropoff is steep... with the next one at 46%. Yikes. The thing is, aside from people like Jonathan Lucroy, Salvador Perez, and Wilson Ramos, even those dozen aren't hitting the cover off the ball. It's been a grim season.

On a happier note, I would like to congratulate J.T. Realmuto for graduating from this list. He's now owned in 71% of Fleaflicker leagues. It really brings a tear to my eye. OK, I promised I wouldn't cry. They grow up so fast. Chase your dreams, J.T.! Nothing can stop you now! For those below the Dirty Dozen, fret not. Keep working at it and maybe you'll hit that magical 70% mark. Just probably not this season. Miracles do happen, though. Our cut-off is sub-70% ownership in Fleaflicker leagues.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Catchers

Travis d'Arnaud (NYM) 46% - Yep. He's baaaaack. If he's anywhere near effective coming back from rehab for a rotator cuff injury, he could be quite a steal here. Though this is assuming the injury-prone fellow can stay on the field. The Mets have been desperate for some offense and he can help you too if you need hitting at the position.

Yan Gomes (CLE) 45% - True, he's hitting .184, but he's been really effective with the bat of late, getting at least one hit in his last four games and notching consecutive two-hit games. This could be the perfect time to grab him. The Brazilian could be heating up with the hot weather.

Derek Norris (SDP) 39% - The Bearded One has continued to be hot in June, hitting two homers in his past four games and collecting at least a hit in seven of his last 10 contests. Strike now while the iron's hot. Besides, you can change your fantasy team name to "The Bearded Ones" if you also have Dallas Keuchel and Jayson Werth on your roster too.

Chris Herrmann (ARI) 21% - Herrmann has had several back-to-back games where he sat, but he's been hitting when he has been given the chance to suit up. He is fighting Welington Castillo for starting time and he's gotten a hit in four of his last five starts. Give him a shot as your No. 2 catcher if you are in a two-catcher league. The power is there and his production, even in limited time, will still give you value.

Yasmani Grandal (LAD) 20% - His struggles have been very strange, especially for someone who many thought was a coup by the Dodgers when they got him in a trade with the Padres. Many have said he's been hitting the ball harder than his numbers show and he did crank a huge three-run homer on 6/21. Add the fact that he's gotten a hit in four of his last 10 games and he could be primed for a breakout.

Chris Iannetta (SEA) 12% - You've got someone who is in the middle of pack statistically among backstops who hasn't even cracked 15% ownership? C'mon man! He also had three multi-hit games in his last 10 contests. This is definitely someone who could help you as a No. 2 catcher as long as Mike Zunino is still stuck in the minors.
