Daily Fantasy Baseball Injury News and Lineup Updates for DraftKings and FanDuel - 4/19/16

Chris Olson highlights MLB injury news and lineup updates for daily fantasy baseball cash games and GPPs on DraftKings and FanDuel for 4/19/16. Make sure to check out these updates before setting your DFS lineups.

DFS players missed the chance to stack against Alfredo Simon on Monday, but they will get another shot Tuesday against the Rockies. Simon has been walloped in three games (two starts) this season, and doesn't fare particularly well against either side of the platoon.

Alex Wood could make a nice value play or SP2 option. He will face the Braves, who tallied the second-worst wOBA against lefties in 2015, and are dead last to begin the new campaign.

In this article, we’ll be providing you with critical lineup updates and injury news for MLB games on 4/19/16. We’ll try to update this article up until games so you have the latest information to set your daily fantasy baseball lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings.

MLB Injury Updates for 4/19/16

UPDATE: DJ LeMahieu returns to lineup Tuesday after sitting out Monday due to a sore left groin.

UPDATE: Alfredo Simon has been scratched due to right biceps tendinitis. Robert Stephenson will start in his place.

Trevor Plouffe is expected to be placed on the DL following Monday's game due to a right intercostal strain. Eduardo Escobar had begun to lose time due to early struggles, but could play regularly while Plouffe is sidelined.

Michael Brantley has been on a rehab assignment since April 12 while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. He has yet to play in back-to-back games, but could return sometime this week if he shows he can handle action on consecutive days.

Travis d'Arnaud has been sidelined the last two days because of a sore right elbow, but he is expected to return Tuesday. Kevin Plawecki will likely get another start if d'Arnaud remains sidelined.

Cameron Maybin looked to be on the verge of returning from a wrist fracture before getting hit with a pitch during Sunday's game with Triple-A Toledo. The incident will likely further delay his debut, but it is not expected to be a significant setback.

Francisco Liriano had to be scratched from his last start because of a hamstring injury, but is expected to take the mound against the Padres. Starling Marte will likely return to the lineup after missing one start as the result of a hand injury.

MLB Lineup Updates for 4/19/16

UPDATE: Julio Teheran will not pitch against the Dodgers. Williams Perez expected to start in his place. Teheran expected to start Wednesday.

The Yankees are facing left-hander Eric Surkamp. This means Aaron Hicks could enter the starting lineup in place of Brett Gardner, while Ronnie Torreyes spells Didi Gregorius at shortstop. UPDATE: Hicks replaces Jacoby Ellsbury in the lineup. Gardner bats in the leadoff spot. Didi Gregorius remains at shortstop.

Chris Young will remain in the lineup against Drew Smyly after drawing the start Monday against J.A Happ.

Weather Updates for 4/19/16

There is a 50% chance that rain will come to Target Field as the Twins attempt an early afternoon start against the Brewers. The two teams were able to begin play Monday, but the game was called after six innings on account of the elements.

There is around a 30% chance of precipitation by time the Astros take on the Rangers at Globe Life Park.

The Angels and the White Sox have a 40% chance to see rain at U.S. Cellular Field
