DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/14/16): NBA DFS Advice

On a night with a heavy slate, I often question whether it's worth breaking the bank on Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant or James Harden. Then, I look at their production and realize it's definitely worth it.

Since all four are obvious choices tonight, all with solid matchups against the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trailblazers, and Memphis Grizzlies respectively, I'm going to focus on a more well-rounded approach with some value plays that could help you free up cap space for the aforementioned big names.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/14/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays on DraftKings.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Ricky Rubio (at PHO, $6,200)

Despite a minor hiccup versus the San Antonio Spurs, Rubio has been tremendously productive of late. Against the Spurs, Rubio only scored two points in 21 minutes; a significant drop in playing time and production from his previous two performances; two double-doubles in over 30 minutes on the court.

After the Spurs game, Rubio put up 13 points, 12 assists, eight rebounds, and three steals in a surprising win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rubio now faces a much easier opponent in the Phoenix Suns and should have plenty of opportunities to produce similarly. I'm not too worried about a blowout here, as Brandon Knight has returned and the Timberwolves aren't that good defensively either.

Reggie Jackson (at WAS, $6,700)

Jackson's name hasn't been thrown into the DFS shuffle too often of late, simply because of the abundance of point guards that have been dropping crazy Daily Fantasy lines and that are more expensive. But Jackson has been a steady option all season and is coming off two straight double-doubles.

Jackson is also a threat from downtown, nailing five of 13 in his last two. He has a great matchup against the Washington Wizards, a team that owns the second highest opponent three point percentage in the league.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

DeMar DeRozan (vs CHI, $7,700)

DeRozan has been on fire recently. He has scored 30 or more points in four of six games, now coming off a 38 point performance against the Miami Heat, where he also grabbed 10 boards, dished out seven assists and also tallied two steals and a block in 43 minutes on the floor.

DeRozan should have an easy time attempting plenty of shots against the recently struggling Chicago Bulls. The Bulls give up over 100 points a game and could again be without Jimmy Butler. DeRozan is still affordable and should be considered in both cash games and head-to-head contests.

Justin Holiday (at TOR, $3,600)

Holiday is definitely handcuffed to the status of Butler. If Buckets misses another game, Holiday should be heavily considered. He is coming off back-to-back double-digit scoring performances and has seen a boost in minutes. Friday night against the Heat, Holiday was on the floor for 38 minutes and made the most of it with his 14 points, four rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and one assist. He has also knocked down three from behind the arc on five attempts in his last two.

Holiday is a punt play but one that won't have as much risk attached to it if he sees similar time. He will likely split time with E'Twaun Moore. Moore is more of a scorer and has shown he can break out from time to time but Holiday is cheaper and can produce just enough to reach or exceed projection.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Luol Deng (vs DEN, $6,200)

Deng has been a blessing for the Heat ever since Chris Bosh went down with injury. Now with Dwayne Wade's status in question for Monday night, Deng's value sees a sizable jump. Deng is a solid option at the three spot regardless of Wade, but will be leaned on heavier if Wade doesn't lace up again.

Deng has scored in double-digits in 15 straight contests and has posted seven double-doubles in that span. He has also picked up ten steals in his last four games and remains a threat from downtown.

Lance Stephenson (at HOU, $5,500)

Stephenson has been extremely solid since arriving in Memphis from Los Angeles. He has a great matchup against the Houston Rockets and is coming off back-to-back solid performances. Against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, Stephenson put up 18 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in 30 minutes of court time. The game prior, he scored 33 against the Pelicans. Look for Stephenson to be heavily in the mix on Monday.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

JaMychal Green (at HOU, $6,200)

Green has benefited from injuries on the Grizzlies. He was not productive in his last game but put up three straight double-doubles in his prior three contests. Green is a constant double-double and rebound threat and should have no trouble scoring against the Rockets.

Zach Randolph also missed another game on Saturday and is questionable for Monday. With Marc Gasol already out, Green can pick up some heavy minutes and is affordable. He is more of a trustworthy option for tournaments than for head-to-head contests.

Marvin Williams (vs DAL, $5,600)

Williams recently scored 25 points in only 27 minutes against the Rockets on Saturday. His performance marked the second straight game that he put up over 20 points, and has been a steady threat from behind the arc as well. Williams has drained eight three pointers on 13 attempts over his last two. Also a consistent rebounder, Williams is an affordable option that should be considered in all formats.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Andre Drummond (at WAS, $8,000)

It's difficult to look away from a guy who is almost automatic for a double-double. Even though Drummond did hiccup as well two games ago, he did bounce back nicely with a 19 point and 15 rebound performance against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Now facing a team who plays defense similarly to the Sixers, Drummond should have no trouble posting his 62nd double-double of the season. We can expect this game to be high scoring. His price still makes it easy to draft him on a consistent basis.
