DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (2/28/16): NBA DFS Advice

By Keith Allison [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Demetri Raftopoulos highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 2/28/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

Any time an intriguing matchup jumps out at you and suddenly spells cash out, it would be wise to listen to your own intuition. Stacking has always been a huge part of placing in the money, and placing consistently, as long as you pick the right game and players to stack with.

Tonight's lineup features several players from Charlotte versus Atlanta, the one they call The King, and plenty of other solid and affordable tournament and head-to-head options. Also, be sure to stop by my live NBA DFS Q&A sessions Monday-Thursday, every week at 6 PM EST: NBA DFS Q&A with Demetri.

With that being said, below you can check out my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for DraftKings DFS slates on 2/28/16.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Kemba Walker (at ATL, $7,800)

Kemba has scored 20 or more points in eight straight contests, and is coming off his first double-double of the season (22 points, 10 assists). He has also picked up at least one steal over that span and has been generously sprinkling stats across the board. A consistent threat from behind the arc, Kemba is still relatively affordable and a lot cheaper than most of the big-name point guards.

The Charlotte Hornets versus the Atlanta Hawks is a very intriguing matchup. Any time two good teams face off, it's smart to stack with multiple players, not just from the same team, but from both. (Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller, and Paul Millsap, others not on this list, should both be given a look as well)

Kyle Lowry (at DET, $8,600)

The one spot definitely has the most appealing options today, making it difficult to avoid spending up here. Lowry is coming off a monstrous 43 points, nine assists, five rebounds, and four steals performance  in 43 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lowry has elevated his game since the break, posting a triple-double earlier in the week as well.

Lowry is more expensive than Kemba, but both are worth considering, together.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Courtney Lee (at ATL, $3,900)

Lee has been doing just enough since being traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to Charlotte, specifically in his past two games. The numbers won't knock you off your chair, but he has been inserted into the starting five and has been racking up minutes.

In 39 minutes against the Indiana pacers, Lee posted seven points, four rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one from downtown. Facing the Cavaliers the game prior, Lee dropped eight points, five rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal in 3o minutes of court time. Lee is a cheap option that will free up cap space for some of the bigger names on this list.

Wesley Matthews (vs MIN, $4,600)

It's often wiser to spend down at the shooting guard position considering the majority of two-guards will only contribute points and only a minimal amount of rebounds and assists to your Daily Fantasy stat line.

Matthews has scored 15+ in four of five games and heads into an appealing matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves have surrendered 104.6 points a game, seventh most in the NBA.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Luol Deng (at NYK, $6,400)

Deng has seemingly benefited most from the continuous absence of Chris Bosh. He has played 35+ minutes in four straight games, posting a double-double in each. While Deng has been highly owned lately, it would be wise to continue using him in tournaments.

Lebron James (at WAS, $9,500)

It feels like I pick or suggest Lebron every time he steps on the court. But, can anybody blame me? His price still isn't as high as Stephen Curry's or Russell Westbrook's price and he flirts with a triple-double almost every game. He has scored 20 or more points in 16 of 17 contests and really spreads the stats as efficiently and often as the two point guards mentioned in the above sentence.

The King faces off against a Washington Wizards team that has relinquished the eighth most points a game in the league. The game should be high scoring and fast-paced, making James an appealing tournament and head-to-head pick.

Tobias Harris (vs TOR, $6,400)

Harris has also benefited from a change of scenery, and has raised some eyebrows since being traded from Orlando to the Detroit Pistons. Harris has scored in double-digits in four straight, two of which were 22 and 21 point performances.

His affordable price, rebounding ability, and the way he's meshed into Detroit's lineup makes him another appealing option at the three-spot.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Aaron Gordon (vs PHI, $6,700)

I've been riding on the Orlando Magic train since before the All-Star break, and it has paid off. The team's record might not show but their lineup has been fire for Daily Fantasy. Stacking any two, or three, Magic would be wise tonight, considering the last time they faced the Philadelphia 76ers last week, everyone went off for big fantasy numbers. Including Aaron Gordon (11 points and 11 rebounds).

It seems that the Slam Dunk Contest lit a fire under Gordon as he has stepped up his game even more since. He's been flirting with double-doubles on a consistent basis while his point totals have been nearing close to 20 of late in over 3o minutes of play. As long as Gordon remains this affordable, it's safe to continue using him in all formats.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Al Horford (vs CHA, $7,200)

Horford has also strung together a nice couple of games since the All-Star break and has become a relatively safe option at the center position for his price. Understandably, it's been beneficial to pay up at the center position, but I've been using two centers often and it has resulted in cashes.

Horford has scored in double-digits in four straight since playing in the All-Star game and has posted two or more blocks and at least one steal in each game of that span. 14 blocks in four games is definitely noteworthy. Always a double-double threat, Horford is another affordable option that will help round out for lineup.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Vucevic, and Hassan Whiteside should also be considered.
