FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 9/7/15

Kevin Luchansky analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 9/7/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

Happy Labor Day! May the only labor you perform today be construction of your FanDuel lineups.

My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try and identify MLB players who will outperform their expectations today, based on their matchups and FanDuel prices. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be value pick sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value for your DFS lineups. Let’s get to it for our FanDuel picks for Labor Day 2015, Monday September 7th.

Editor’s Note: We have some awesome rest of season MLB DFS Services Premium Lineup Picks deals, that include all of our Premium DFS lineup picks, analysis and also exclusive access to all our other Premium tools, apps and resources. Get MLB DFS Premium and get an edge!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

Washing Nationals RHB against Jon Niese

The Nats are heavy favorites (-180) in this early contest and it isn't just because Mad Max is on the bump. His counterpart, Jon Niese, has been lit up over his last few starts and right-handed batters have been doing most of the damage. The Nats are RHB heavy and you'll want to have exposure to a few of their guys, namely Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman.

Philadelphia Phillies LHB against Williams Perez

Poor Williams Perez. Lefties have been abusing him all season and recently it's gotten worse. This season, LHB own a .310/.396/.510 slash line against him - a pretty ripe line for stacking against. The Phillies don't have a ton of big lefty bats, but combining Freddy Galvis, Ryan Howard and a few of their top/middle of the order guys could pay big dividends in what could be an undervalued stack.

Honorable Mention: Blue Jays against Rick Porcello

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

I tried for quite some time to convince myself that paying up today for the likes of Chris Sale or Zack Greinke would be worth it, but I just can't get myself to pull the trigger, no matter how I slice the numbers and splits. When a player's salary price is north of $13K, I need to really be floored by the matchup to pony up that amount of cash.

I like a few pitchers tonight (see below) as tournament options, but full disclosure, I think they all come with a pretty good deal of risk. There's a strong good chance I roll the dice with a few of these guys in GPP formats and stay away from cash games all together today.

Trevor Bauer (SP, CLE) - $7,700

Bauer got absolutely rocked his last time out, but it was against the league's most power offense in Toronto. Prior to that, his final two starts in August produced wins and seven strikeouts a piece in each contest. Today, he faces a White Sox team that strikes out in more than 25% of their at-bats and the price tag leaves me a lot of options to build a powerful offense around him.

Michael Pineda (SP, NYY) - $8,600

Pineda can be really hot and cold, but he has strikeout upside I just can't ignore today. He's striking out over nine batters per nine innings, allows less than a home run per nine, and his 1.179 WHIP is very respectable as well. The Orioles are striking out in 26% of their at-bats versus right-handed pitching.

Honorable Mention: Drew Smyly versus Detroit

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Wilson Ramos (C, WAS) - $2,500

Ramos has a very favorable price and matchup as he should be able to tee off against Niese. He owns a .429 batting average lifetime against Niese and comes in swinging a relatively hot bat with a .442 slugging percentage over the past two weeks.

Edwin Encarnacion (1B, TOR) - $4,800

It's a steep price to pay but I want some exposure to the Jays lineup as they face Rick Porcello and Edwin has been on an absolute tear of late. In the past 14 days, he owns a .791 slugging percentage with six home runs. Fenway is no Rogers Centre, but it's only a slight downgrade as far as power parks go.

Logan Forsythe (2B, TAM) -$3,500

Forsythe also belongs in the swinging a hot bat club and I love the matchup he has today along with his strong position in the top/middle of the Rays order.

Evan Longoria (3B, TAM) - $3,000

I want some more exposure to hitters facing Randy Wolf and Longo fits the bill this evening. 3K is a real reasonable price for a hitter with a career .541 slugging percentage against RHP and .587 slugging percentage since mid August.

Xander Bogaerts (SS, BOS) - $3,400

The X man has long has Mark Buehrle's number - .714 slugging percentage against him lifetime - and he has himself a great month of August. Vegas expects this one to be a pretty high scoring affair and I expect Xander to play a big role for Boston's part.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Chris Colabello (OF, TOR) - $3,100

Keep an eye on where Cola falls in the batting order, but if he's sixth or higher, I'm absolutely rostering him. He gives nice exposure to a Jays lineup that is mostly incredibly expensive and he do so at a fair price. For his career, he's a .453 slugger against RHP.

Domonic Brown (OF, PHI) - $2,200

Brown is on day-to-day status as he suffered a concussion a few days ago, but should be ready to go today. He offers huge power upside at a minimum price and his Phillies teammates should chase Williams Perez, giving him ample run and RBI opportunities.

George Springer (OF, HOU) - $3,100

Everyone's favorite UCONN Husky is back and when he's high in the order, he's in there to damage southpaw pitchers earned run averages. Springer owns a .426 wOBA and .267 ISO against LHP this season.

Chris Young (OF, NYY) $2,900

You know the drill by now. Young owns left-handed pitchers - especially at Yankee Stadium - and has a great opportunity to go yard against Chen today.
