Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Sunday, August 23rd. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the time slots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.

DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel

Clayton Kershaw (SP, LAD) - $13,000

It's the best pitcher in the game against one of the most strikeout prone lineups in the game. I know this is a lot, but it's a money start.

DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel

Eric Hosmer (1B, KC) – $3,600

He faces lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, but I'm trusting the talent here.

Adrian Beltre (3B, TEX) – $3,200

Adrian Beltre faces lefty Matt Boyd on Sunday.  Five of Beltre’s eleven homers this year have come off left-handed pitchers despite only having approximately half as many at-bats vs. lefties.

DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel

Starling Marte (OF, PIT) - $3,400

Handedness doesn't matter for Marte right now. He's crushing everything from anyone. His two-hit game yesterday (which included a walk-off homer), makes five multi-hit games in his last seven starts. Add in the stolen base and power potential, and this price is a steal.

Brett Gardner (OF, NYY) - $2,900

His recent slump has his price rightfully deflated, but Gardner gets a shaky righty in Bauer. He also has three hits in his last two games including a two-run shot. Get on board before the price shoots up again.

FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day

Austin Jackson (OF, SEA) - $2,400

Jackson has a career .429/.481/.673 triple slash line against opposing lefty John Danks in 49 career at-bats. This is a great value.
