FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 8/4/15

There's a whole lot of baseball this evening - 15 games, to be exact - which means there's a whole lot of rostering options and much to discuss.

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify some DFS picks to help shape your lineups on FanDuel. Below you will find some recommended FanDuel plays, analysis and DFS advice for tonight’s games. Good luck RotoBallers!

Editor's Note: We have some awesome rest of season MLB DFS Services Premium Lineup Picks deals, that include all of our Premium DFS lineup picks, analysis and also exclusive access to all our other Premium tools, apps and resources. Get MLB DFS Premium and get an edge!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

It's my job to find value in some less than obvious looking stacks and ones that should be less popular so you can climb the tournament ranks, but I would be doing a disservice if I at least didn't mention how you can probably get your money's worth and then some stacking Mariners LHB tonight. That said, let's look at some others.

Rangers LHB versus Dan Straily

They certainly handled McCullers very well last night, and I expect them to have an easier path to scoring runs this evening against Straily, who has allowed a .335 wOBA and .426 slugging percentage to left-handed hitters for his career. Take a long look at guys like Sin-Shoo Choo, Prince Fielder and Mitch Moreland.

Yankees RHB against Henry Owens

Henry Owens is making his major league debut against the Yankees. Bad news for Owens - the Yankees having been scoring runs in bunches and he doesn't have the benefit of the Boston faithful to cheer him on as this one's being played in the Bronx. Owens projects as a solid major league hitter, but I like the Yankees RHB and middle of their order guys tonight. Target guys like Alex Rodriguez, Chris Young and Mark Teixeira.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel Cash Games

My favorite two cash game starers tonight actually face off against one another. Their value takes a little hit as only one will have a chance to be win eligible, but I think both eclipse 7+ strikeouts and keep this a low scoring contest.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel Tournaments

There aren't a lot of guys that fit the mold of a true tournament pitcher for me: one's that are priced below ~$7,500 and have a chance to reel off some strikeouts. If I'm going to roster any, though, it would be one of these two guys.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Yasmani Grandal (C, LAD) - $3,400

It's always fun to pick on poor Jerome Williams, and Grandal and the Dodgers should do a lot of damage tonight in Philadelphia. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of baseballs leaving Citizens Bank Park, as Williams is the owner of an ugly 17.9% HR/FB ratio, and Grandal is slugging .532 against righties this season.

Jason Castro (C, HOU) - $2,600

If you're trying to be more frugal with your bank roll at catcher, Castro is your man today. He doesn't always have great lineup order value as he often hits in the bottom third, but he's hot right now (3 HR, .846 slugging last 14 days) and has hit .389 off of Gallardo for his career.

Joey Votto (1B, CIN) - $3,800

I'm not thrilled with the matchups any of the first baseman priced over 4K have, leaving the best option, in my opinion, to be Joey Votto. Votto has been scorching of late (3 HR, .487 average last two weeks), has hit Lackey very well (2 HR in 6 PA), albeit in a small sample size, and the game is played in hitter friendly Cincinnati.

Rougned Odor (2B, TEX) - $3,500

I really like the matchup Odor has in front of him tonight. The Rangers are tossing Dan Straily to the mound, he who has allowed a .335 wOBA to left-handed hitters for his career. Odor is seeing the ball very well lately and this contest is being played in Arlington, where it expects to be hot, humid and home run crazy.

Matt Carpenter (3B, STL) - $3,200

Carpenter seems to have corrected whatever was ailing his swing, and he's making much better hard contact over the past few weeks. I'm going to continue the theme of picking on DeSclafani at Great American Ballpark, especially with such a modest price tag.

Freddy Galvis (SS, PHI) - $2,800

Galvis has somewhat of a tough go tonight facing Alex Wood, but he has hit him very well for his career. Galvis is also on a hot streak of his own, slugging .525 over the past two weeks, and the price tag leaves me a lot of room to stack some stud outfielders.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Shin-Soo Choo (OF, TEX) - $3,400

Choo had another great game last night and he's really been on fire over the past few weeks after a terrible slump earlier in the Summer. Choo is a career .506 slugger against right-handed pitching and his slugging percentage over the past two weeks is over .700 with three home runs.

Drew Stubbs (OF, COL) - $3,000

Like Choo, Stubbs has been streaky this season but he's warming up right now (batting .346 over past two weeks), is a career .459 slugger against southpaws and is hitting over .300 at home this season at Coors Field. A player of Stubbs' talent playing at Coors with just a $3,000 price tag is something that needs to be exploited, no questions asked.

Jayson Werth (OF, WAS) - $2,500

A nice value play today, probably best used in Tournament formats. Werth hasn't played a whole lot this season, but he's got a favorable matchup against Pat Corbin (.400 batting average against Corbin since '08) and he owns a .541 career slugging percentage against southpaws.

Stephen Piscotty (OF, STL) - $2,500

Piscotty's major league numbers are still a small sample size, but he's done some damage and the price tag is too low to resist. Too add to the juiciness, Piscotty can hit for power and he's playing in one of the most excellent home run producing ball parks this evening.
