FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 7/6/15

Kevin Luchansky analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 7/6/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

It's an 11-game slate on the evening of Monday, July 6th. Padres at Pirates and Reds at Nationals kick the night off with first pitches at 7:05 eastern time.

Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’re hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $110,000 in cash prizes!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

The options on tonight's slate leave a lot to be desired. The problem with there being only one true *obvious* (Dodgers lefty bats) target is that when everyone is on that same stack, it has a lot less value. Here's to hoping the three I listed below aren't quite as popular as what I'm expecting the Dodgers' stacks to be.

Giants RHB versus Jon Niese

Niese hasn't been terrible this season (3.90 ERA, 4.30 FIP), but he hasn't exactly been reliable either (five starts of 4+ earned runs allowed). Right-handed hitters have taken him deep nine times already in 2015, and they own a .282/.355/.455 slash line against him. It isn't a great park for power, but I'm going to lean on the .352 wOBA RHB have against him and target Angel Pagan, Buster Posey and Matt Duffy. I'll likely throw in a lefty - like Joe Panik or Brandon Belt - too.

Reds versus Doug Fister

There are quite a few bats in the Cincinnati lineup that can put the ball in the seats, and Fister is a solid opposing pitcher to match them up against. For the season, right-handed hitters have a .317/.362/.510 slash line with a .373 wOBA against Fister, and left-handers have OK marks (.402 slugging, .304 wOBA). I'm targeting Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, Todd Frazier and either Billy Hamilton or Brandon Phillips.

Honorable Mention: Royals LHB versus Alex Colome

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel Cash Games

I think I'd be a fool not to at least mention (and you one not to consider) Chris Sale tonight, but for that price tag I'd like to feel at least a little safer about the opponent. The Blue Jays scare me, and as such, I'm probably going to fade Sale tonight. This is not to say he isn't a good play, just spelling out my thought process.

A.J. Burnett (SP, PIT) - $9,100

Burnett has been pretty spectacular this season, posting a 2.05 ERA and 7.69 K/9. I feel good about Burnett in general, and the fact he gets the strikeout prone Padres makes me feel even better about rostering him over the likes of Chris Sale. The Pirates are pretty big favorites (-148), and the over/under is set at just seven.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel Tournaments

Chris Heston (SP, SFG) - $7,300

Rostering whatever starter is lucky enough to take on the Mets is becoming a strategy all by itself. Heston has been pretty good this season too though (3.78 ERA, 3.29 FIP) and has the benefit of playing in his spacious home park. I think he's got a great shot to pull off the win.

Honorable Mention: Kyle Lohse (SP, MIL) - $5,500

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

As always, I’ll try to give you a few guys that I project to be some of the highest point accumulators and a few guys that I think have an opportunity to return a lot of value due to their low price/high ceiling combination.

Yasmani Grandal (C, LAD) - $3,200

Grandal almost always has the best lineup slot of any of the affordable catching options. He's also facing a weak opposing starter and has a .449 career slugging percentage against RHP.

Miguel Montero (C, CHC) - $2,300

It's rare you can get a catcher with good splits and batting fifth (or sixth) for under $3,000, but Montero comes in well below that mark today.

Joey Votto (1B, CIN) - $3,200

Votto's bat has been cool of late, but he's got great lineup slot value, owns a .543 career slugging percentage against RHP, and has a reasonable price tag.

Jose Abreu (1B, CHW) - $3,800

Abreu is playing in an excellent hitter's park today against a soft-tossing lefty and has a .414 OBP against left-handed pitchers.

Brian Dozier (2B, MIN) - $3,500

Dozier has owned Chen throughout their lifetime matchups (.455 batting average) and has a .512 slugging percentage against southpaws.

Todd Frazier (3B, CIN) - $4,400

One of the strongest candidates of the night to go deep. I like his chances to see ducks on the pond, too.

Matt Duffy (3B, SFG) - $3,400

Duffy faces off against a sub-par lefty and has been swinging an incredibly hot bat lately. He's the owner of a .596 slugging percentage in the past two weeks.

Eduardo Escobar (SS, MIN) - $2,500

My favorite ROI type of play shortstop of the night. Escobar has a platoon matchup going for him and a .440 slugging percentage in that respect.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Bryce Harper (OF, WAS) - $5,200

The price tag is pretty steep, but he's hot right now (.362 average last two weeks). He's also a career .542 slugger against right-handed pitching.

Ryan Braun (OF, MIL) - $5,000

Braun is one of the hottest hitters in the game these past few weeks, and he gets to face off against a rookie.

Lorenzo Cain (OF, KC) - $3,600

Cain will likely be a piece of a Royals stack tonight, and a big reason why is his ability to get on base as of late (.465 OBP last two weeks) backed by a career .323 OBP against right-handed pitchers.

Melky Cabrera (OF, CHW) - $2,600

The Melk man is an incredible value tonight when you consider he has park factors, BvP (2 HR in 25 PA), and a hot bat (.565 slugging last 14 days).

Alex Gordon (OF, KC) - $2,200

His bat has gone cold after a monster start to June, but I can't pass up putting him into a Royals stack or two at this price.

Joc Pederson (OF, LAD) - $3,300

Pederson's batting average has taken a hit these past few weeks, but it's also helped bring his price tag down to something more reasonable. He hasn't stopped hitting home runs. Joc is a career .498 slugger against right-handed pitching.
