NFL Wide Receiver Rankings: Week 8 Fantasy Football

RotoBaller brings you our Week 8 fantasy football wide receiver rankings by authors Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades) and Ryan Rufe (@RyanRufe), along with wide receiver rankings analysis by Zach Wilkens. For even more Week 8 rankings and analysis, be sure to check out our positional rankings for all other positions.

Editor's Note: In case you missed it, Zach Wilkens and Ryan Rufe nailed their rankings in Week 6. They were both ranked in the top 10 overall accuracy scores on FantasyPros for last week's fantasy football rankings, going up against some of the biggest and baddest fantasy gurus in the industry. Zach came in at 4th overall (out of 133 experts), and Ryan cam in at 7th overall. Congrats guys, let's show them some love!

Week 8 Wide Receiver Rankings Analysis

By AJ Guel (ajguel.com) (originally posted to Flickr as <a title=The two biggest discrepancies in my WR ranks are the elite stars that are currently hurting, A.J. Green and Calvin Johnson. On Green, if he plays, he is starting for you. He won't be 100% but he should be able to make big plays if he's active.

With Megatron it's not so clear. I think he's a WR2 but I wouldn't consider him a must start if he is active. Keep an eye on the updates but for now I have him as someone you are probably starting. The Bears WRs struggled last week as did Jay Cutler. They will face Revis this week which means one of them will be having problems. I'm still optimistic for the pair.

I'm quite low on T.Y. Hilton. He struggled in the second half last year with Reggie Wayne out so it will be interesting to see how he responds now. He's been excellent but I still don't see him as an elite receiver. If you own him I assume his definitely in your lineup but I'd temper expectations a bit. Sammy Watkins looked like a star last week. Now facing the Jets there is no reason he can't continue his success. The more I see from him, the more I expect big things.

Kelvin Benjamin has a tough matchup this week which makes him a low-end WR2/Flex play for me. Seattle isn't as good as they were in the past but I'd still be nervous starting him. How quickly everyone seems to have forgotten about Brian Quick's success. Two awful games against two tough teams and he has plummeted down the consensus rankings. I still like Quick a lot. I like Doug Baldwin, but I'm not confident that he will be an every week fantasy-starter without Harvin. Russell Wilson likes to spread the ball around too much. I'll be more convinced with another strong week here.

Good luck in Week 8 RotoBallers!
