William Nylander Iffy for Olympic Opener
Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander (groin) didn't practice on Tuesday and is considered a game-time decision for Sweden's Olympic opener against Italy on Wednesday. Nylander has battled health issues throughout 2026, appearing in only four games for Toronto since the turn of the year. While Team Sweden should easily handle the hosts even without Nylander, it would be a significant blow to the squad if the Maple Leafs star is not at 100 percent at the tournament. Despite playing in only 40 of Toronto's 57 games, Nylander has posted a team-high 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists).
