Samuel Honzek Out for Six Months After Surgery
Calgary Flames left wing Samuel Honzek (upper body) underwent surgery on Thursday and is set to miss six months. This means that Honzek's season is over, unless the Flames make a playoff run. The 21-year-old is expected to make a full recovery from an upper-body injury. Honzek suffered the injury in very unfortunate circumstances, as he was involved in a collision with teammate Mikael Backlund in a loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Nov. 15. After making his first five NHL appearances in 2024-25, Honzek became a regular in the Flames lineup this season, recording four points (two goals, two assists) and 35 hits. Connor Zary has taken over Honzek's spot on the third line, but he has been a non-factor in fantasy hockey this term.
