Carolina Hurricanes left wing William Carrier (lower body) will be forced to miss time after exiting Thursday's clash against the Colorado Avalanche early. Eric Robinson (upper body) didn't finish the game either, and Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour told reporters after the contest that both players will be out "for an extended period." Carrier operates as a fourth-line grinder, but has chipped in with one goal and two assists in seven games this season. He leads all Hurricanes forwards with 14 hits. Due to injuries on the front line, Mark Jankowski is set to enter the lineup, and Carolina is likely to call up reinforcements from the minors.--Taavi Pailk
