San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (calf) was placed on the injured reserve on Friday. He recently suffered a calf injury and will now miss the next four weeks because of it. Valdes-Scantling wasn't offering much value anyway with four receptions for 40 yards heading into Week 7. His absence will only mean less depth for the already significantly banged up 49ers offense. Demarcus Robinson could see more playing time now, but he hasn't done much with his time on the field this season. Valdes-Scantling won't be eligible to play in a game until November 16.--Andy Webb
