Jonathan Drouin Suspended for Saturday's Game
New York Islanders winger Jonathan Drouin must sit out Saturday's clash versus the Washington Capitals due to a suspension. The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced Friday that Drouin has been suspended for one game for cross-checking Pittsburgh's Connor Dewar in Thursday's game. This marks Drouin's first career suspension. The 30-year-old made a scoring start to the new season on Thursday night, netting the Islanders' first goal in a 4-3 loss. Due to Drouin's absence, either Maxim Shabanov or Anthony Duclair could get a top-six role on Saturday.
