Edmonton Oilers winger Vasily Podkolzin signed a three-year contract extension on Tuesday. The deal will take effect next season and has an average annual value of $2.95 million. Podkolzin led the Oilers with 211 hits in 82 games last season and contributed eight goals and 16 assists on the attacking end. The Oilers have used Podkolzin throughout the lineup, and his versatility is a real asset for the team. He is currently projected to start the new season alongside Leon Draisaitl on the second line, which will give Podkolzin additional fantasy value.--Taavi Pailk
