Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 3? Isaiah Likely, Brock Bowers, Sam LaPorta, Brenton Strange, Jonnu Smith, Dallas Goedert, Kyle Pitts Sr., Travis Kelce, Trey McBride, Colston Loveland

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) is on the practice field for the team's first practice of the week on Thursday, according to Bo Smolka of Press Box. Likely will probably be listed as limited, but it's a good sign that he's making progress after being limited last Friday.

The 25-year-old is probably facing an uphill battle to be active on Monday night in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions, but he's getting closer to making his 2025 debut. If you're not stoked on your TE options in fantasy, Likely is worth a pickup now if he's available in your league's waiver wire.

Fellow tight end Mark Andrews has been uncharacteristically quiet in two games with Likely sidelined, catching only two of his four targets for seven yards, with the Ravens scoring over 40 points in both of their games. With Andrews struggling, Likely could certainly take over TE1 duties in Baltimore once he's back to full strength. UPDATE: Likely was officially limited at Thursday's practice.

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) injured his knee in the season-opening win over the New England Patriots and was questionable to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 2. Bowers ended up playing, handling 77 percent of the offensive snaps while catching five of his eight targets for a disappointing 38 yards in a 20-9 loss.

As long as the 22-year-old former first-rounder doesn't have a setback with his knee at practice later this week, he should be ready to roll for a nice Week 3 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Washington has allowed the fourth-most half-PPR points to opposing tight ends through two weeks, so Bowers could be primed for a big day this Sunday. He is already one of the top TEs in the NFL after posting a 112-1,194-5 line on 153 targets in 17 games in his rookie year in 2024.

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta missed out on the fun in his team's 52-point performance against the Chicago Bears in Week 2. LaPorta was targeted four times by Lions quarterback Jared Goff out of 28 pass attempts and recorded three catches for 26 yards.

Detroit has several formidable offensive weapons, so there's always a risk that LaPorta will fall behind wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and running back Jahmyr Gibbs in the pecking order for touches.

After averaging over seven targets per game as a rookie in 2023, LaPorta has now averaged 5.3 targets per game across his last 18 regular-season contests. He remains a fantasy TE1, but he may be overly reliant on touchdowns as long as Detroit's other pass-catchers remain healthy.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) practiced again Thursday, boosting his chances of suiting up against the Rams in Week 3. Goedert was sharp in the opener, hauling in all seven of his targets for 44 yards while serving as a reliable option in Jalen Hurts' short-to-intermediate passing attack.

While the often-injured veteran's involvement in practice is encouraging as Week 3 approaches, fantasy managers should still monitor his status heading into the weekend, as he remains officially questionable.

If active, Dallas Goedert profiles as a steady TE1 option in PPR formats given his target volume. UPDATE: Goedert was limited on Thursday for the second straight day this week.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. (toe) was added to the injury report on Thursday due to a toe injury. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status on Friday, as Pitts was a full participant on Wednesday.

If Pitts is unable to log a full session on Friday, he may carry a designation into the weekend. Pitts has enjoyed a solid start to the campaign, catching 11 of his 13 targets for 96 yards. This is an excellent sign as Pitts caught just 47 passes for 602 yards in 2024, which were both the second-lowest marks of his career.

If Pitts were to sit out on Sunday when the Falcons face the Carolina Panthers, fantasy managers should expect more targets to go to wide receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney.
