Dominic Canzone Feeling Better, Available Off the Bench on Monday
Dominic Canzone (wrist) received a cortisone shot in his injured left wrist a few days ago and said he's feeling much better, according to The Seattle Times' Adam Jude. Canzone isn't in the starting nine for Monday's series opener against the visiting San Diego Padres at T-Mobile Park, but he's available off the bench and could return to the starting lineup for Game 2 of the series on Tuesday. Victor Robles is starting in right field on Monday and is hitting ninth against Padres left-hander JP Sears. Canzone is hoping to return to the lineup sooner than later, as he ha hit a strong .286/.379/.388 with a home run and five RBI in 58 trips to the plate since the start of August. When he returns, he should be Seattle's regular right fielder against right-handed pitching. Canzone is hitting .289/.348/.456 on the year with an .804 OPS, seven homers, 20 RBI and 19 runs in 180 at-bats.
