The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Tuesday that they reinstated infielder Andres Gimenez (ankle) from the 10-day injured list and designated infielder Buddy Kennedy for assignment in a corresponding move. Gimenez will return to second base and bat ninth in Tuesday's series opener against the visiting Chicago Cubs and right-hander Javier Assad, who will be making his season debut. The 26-year-old won't carry much DFS appeal at all at the bottom of Toronto's batting order. He's gone 1-for-3 against Assad in his career. Gimenez went 7-for-18 with a steal and three runs scored in five minor-league rehab games, but he's mostly a glove-first guy that doesn't do much for fantasy managers in mixed leagues. He's returning to a .218/.300/.322 slash line with five home runs, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored and 10 stolen bases on the season in 61 games played.--Keith Hernandez
