J.J. Wetherholt Headed to Triple-A
J.J. Wetherholt has been promoted to Triple-A Memphis after cruising through 62 games at Double-A Springfield. The Cardinals' top-ranked prospect hit .300 with seven home runs and 14 stolen bases, while registering a .425 OBP thanks to a strong 16.0 percent walk rate, which was higher than his strikeout rate of 14.5 percent. The seventh overall pick in the 2024 Draft showed more of the same last year at Single-A, displaying strong contact skills and walking more than he struck out. With a strong showing at Triple-A, the 22-year-old could make a case for a September call-up. Regardless of whether or not that happens, fantasy managers should expect the left-handed hitter to have fantasy relevance at some point next season.
