Giancarlo Stanton to Make Season Debut on Monday
Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) will be in the starting lineup to make his 2025 season debut in Monday's series opener in the Bronx against the visiting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jose Soriano, league sources tell SNY's Andy Martino. Tendinitis in both of Stanton's elbows has kept him out for the entire season until now. The 35-year-old veteran is expected to stick primarily in the DH role for the Yankees the rest of the year, which will make things tricky for manager Aaron Boone to try and keep Ben Rice's hot bat in the lineup. It's possible we see Rice make some starts at catcher, which would push Austin Wells to the bench. Stanton is nearing the end of his career and has had trouble staying healthy, but he still has plenty of power to provide fantasy managers that are in search of it.
