Brandon Woodruff's Next Rehab Start Coming on Wednesday
Brandon Woodruff's (ankle, shoulder) next minor-league rehab start is scheduled for Wednesday at an affiliate to be determined, according to MLB.com. Woodruff might pitch once more in the minors after that. The 32-year-old veteran was originally rehabbing from capsule surgery on his right shoulder that he had in October of 2023. He was getting close to his 2025 debut before experiencing right-ankle tendinitis, which caused the Brewers to shut him down briefly. Woodruff has restarted his rehab assignment, though, and threw four scoreless innings with two walks and two strikeouts last Wednesday with Triple-A Nashville. Barring another setback, Woodruff should be able to make his season debut for the Brew Crew in early July. He was a fantasy ace before his shoulder injury and should be rostered everywhere, but don't be surprised if he needs to shake off some rust.
