Brett Baty Has Big Night in Win Against Red Sox
Brett Baty went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's 5-1 road win against the Boston Red Sox. The 25-year-old singled twice, drove in three runs, and stole a base. In an attempt to shake up the lineup, manager Carlos Mendoza gave Baty his first start against a lefty all season, and he didn't disappoint with the opportunity. He ripped a single in the top of the second off Bo Sox starter Garrett Crochet to collect his first hit, driving in Mark Vientos -- and nearly Luis Torrens -- to give the Mets their first run. Then, in the top of the seventh, Baty singled again -- this time knocking in two. Since returning from Triple-A, he's notched four two-hit outings, but is just 1-for-21 across his other eight appearances.
