Montreal Canadiens center Jake Evans has agreed to a four-year extension with the team. The 28-year-old was heading toward unrestricted free agency before finalizing a $11.4 million deal. Evans plays a key role in Montreal's penalty kill and has also made an offensive impact, tallying 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) in 61 games. The Toronto-born forward needs just one more point to match his career-high. However, Evans did most of his scoring early in the season. He has registered only five points since the calendar was turned.--Taavi Pailk
