Who should I start for Week 17? Fantasy football outlooks for Garrett Wilson, Josh Downs, Darnell Mooney. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.
Having a player ranked inside the top 25 at their position in fantasy points scored per game seems nice, right? In leagues with 10 or more teams, there are at least two wide receiver spots and at least one flex spot, for the most part. You'd think that would mean the top 30 players at both running back and WR would be great to have.
But sometimes, players can be a massive pain, flashing high upside in some games and equally low floor in others. It's endlessly frustrating to see a player go from a week-winning performance of 20 or more PPR fantasy points, only to be a ghost a short time later.
It can be hard to predict when they'll have good games, but we'll try to do it below, anyway, with New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs, and Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney.
Should I Start Garrett Wilson for Fantasy Football?
He's the WR8 on the season in full-PPR scoring, but it might not feel like he is to his fantasy managers. He'd probably be lower on this list if so many key WRs hadn't gotten hurt this year. Still, he should probably be started in Week 17. He's no longer the team's top receiver, unfortunately, as that honor goes to quarterback Aaron Rodgers' bestie, wideout Davante Adams.

But the reality is that Wilson has downgraded to a WR3/FLEX at this point. Adams is the first read more often than not here, and the stat sheet has shown it. The Buffalo Bills defense that they'll be facing is normally stiff, but the health of their secondary will be heavily impactful. If both of Buffalo's starting safeties are out, Wilson will get an upgrade to low-end WR2.
Should I Start Josh Downs for Fantasy Football?
INJURY UPDATE: Anthony Richardson has been ruled OUT for Week 17. Joe Flacco will start for the Colts.
It's extremely tough to predict his production with quarterback Anthony Richardson (back, foot) running the show. And while the second-year WR scored a touchdown in Week 16, he had just three catches on four targets. He's not had a game with more than five catches since Week 11. The low reception totals have been hurting his PPR upside.

If Richardson doesn't play, we consider Downs a high-end WR2, as he's been far more productive when the grizzled vet has been the signal-caller. Otherwise, he's more of a low-end WR2. The matchup is extremely easy for him, as the Colts will face the New York Giants, so that's factored into his classification there.
Should I Start Darnell Mooney for Fantasy Football?
He's a solid player to start in leagues with 12 or more teams. Atlanta's WR1, Drake London (hamstring) logged limited practices on both Wednesday and Thursday and doesn't seem to be in any serious danger of missing the game. That should help draw coverage away from Mooney, who caught five passes for 82 yards last week.

He's had some great games this season, and with quarterback Michael Penix Jr. looking solid in his debut in Week 16, Mooney could have a good day. Opposing cornerback Marshon Lattimore will likely follow around London, meaning Mooney will have easier coverage assignments.
