Stipe Miocic (20-5) suffered a third-round stoppage loss to Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 309 on Saturday for the heavyweight title. Miocic was fighting for the first time since March of 2021 and at age 42 was a big underdog. In the first round, Miocic was taken down and was nearly finished with ground-and-pound. Miocic struggled with the timing and in the third round, was dropped by a vicious body shot and was finished with ground-and-pound. Following the loss, Miocic announced his retirement from MMA. Miocic finished his career with a record of 20-5 and is the former UFC heavyweight champion. He's a surefire UFC Hall of Famer.--Cole Shelton
