Alexander Mattison is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: After being a popular waiver addition this past week, Mattison found the endzone for the second straight game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

While that was good to see, Mattison’s touches and snap % both went down in Week 2. He played just 22% of offensive snaps and only received four touches. It’s incredibly difficult to be a consistent fantasy producer on this amount of touches.
Raiders coach Antonio Pierce has repeatedly stated his desire to get starter Zamir White 20+ touches per game. That does not bode well for Mattison’s outlook.
After Week 1, it appeared he would be more involved than some thought especially when Las Vegas is trailing in games. However, that wasn’t the case Sunday. The coaching staff seemingly reaffirmed their commitment to White as their RB1.
Mattison can still be added off waivers as he could carry some stand-alone value. However, he’s not as high a priority as he was a week ago.
